I've been with CVS Health 5 years.. have had a 2nd full time gig the entire time.. no one at CVS is minding the store..always done my best, but reality is that if you aren't playing the CYA game, you've already lost.. I have saved up so much money that I don't care what happens with CVS at this point.. stock in the toilet, mismanagement, the works.. do what you need to for you and your own family.. no one at any company cares about their employees..

I received one week severance for every year worked 35 weeks. And my benefits run out this upcoming week. Last day of the month. No more company life insurance but thankfully I have a separate policy. I had ironically just inquired about layoffs the prior week and was told by my manager, "I haven't heard anything about layoffs just continue to do business as usual". Also the irony, I historically received a 4 on my performance rating, constantly recognized. It's very much a let down. But ... They'll be many more besides me with families and life. Who am I to be selfish. I wish everyone out there so many blessings. I will pray for you all.

That’s the sad part all the energy you put forth to foster a career and move up within the company. Like someone said and lose it all in 10 minute conversation. One of the hardest things about being laid off is you never walk in somewhere at the same level of the company that you were laid off from. Then you have to reassure all on how you will be an asset to the new company, coming in over qualified then those that will lead you.

Im so sorry. 35 years is a long time. They did the same to me. Although my tenure was 1/2 that. 18 years. My burn - I was 3 years away from retirement, 62, and they laid me off. Been very difficult to find the same level of job. So I took something making 1/2 of what I was making just to have money coming in. All the promotions I worked hard to get, all the moving around to learn more and Poof- one 10 min. conversation and your gone. Wishing you all the best. (also Aetna person) I know God has a plan. I walk in faith.

Agree with the person that wrote they did you a favor. 35 years is a very long time to invest yourself in a company so please be proud of that. Know that better things are coming your way ✨

you probably gave up on $1M of earnings potential by working at only 1 company forever

They don’t care about employee tenure, or skills, or about employees livelihoods. Which is sad. But at the same time, employees still there should start treating the company the same way. Don’t care about the work, do the bare minimum. And when you find a new job, just walk out with no notice. They can lay you off on a whim, and you can walk out on a whim. There’s no reason to give any ounce of respect or thought to this company.

You must have received a good severance. 35 years is too long to stay at one company. They did you a favor.
