Things are changing quickly and daily in our PL LOB. And we're being invited to all employee career development meetings how to apply for roles and how to update resumes etc.
Things pretty status quo until past month and never experienced this much change so quickly in my LOB. More than busy though, plenty to do. Wonder if they want people to leave?

They want to cut people, but the problem is that management doesn't know who is essential, and some essential people are just leaving. For every process that gets improved 3 other processes become more labor intensive. Too many process decisions are made without understanding the impacts of the changes.

BOD wants the company right sized for the investors. Can’t cut enmasse as there would be more impact on operations than there already is (remember the great culling of the TSC?). So they have to cull at a slower pace which beats up the employees.
If they offered voluntary severance packages two things would happen. Too many of the wrong people would volunteer. And those who’s request wouldn’t be granted would introduce too much insider risk from being extra disgruntled.
If we want a package we have to su-k it up and hope our number is pulled. Or bail earlier for a better ride. Just have to ignore the chaff in the mean time.
On the commercial side we were flat told WF pooled a ton of money for severance packages in 2024. Our credit group was told to update all personal information in Workday, and no other group. I have been with the co for 28yrs, this is the most unhappy I have ever been in my career, trying to push old timers out instead of a package.
