All of the remote employees in our team were culled except for 1. Seems that it’s who you know, not what you know.

my entire team was cut. most of us have been around for a long time...me, 25 years gone just like that

Not true that they are targeting high earners. I know many T1 employees who have only been at SAP a couple of years who are part of the layoff.

Well... I'd have to say that makes sense, but I don't think that remote is the key factor here.

They are targeting long tenured employees who make a decent salary.
Those employees have developed relationships and reputations that have resulted in them being able to work out remote (Full Home Office) agreements with their managers.

So... the remote part is more impacted by who was impacted, and less a factor in determining who was impacted.

On top of that, in some countries I'd say that a significant percentage of the workforce has gone remote, so... its just a matter of percentages.

They've done their fare share of sh---y things over the last few weeks... no need to try to look too far beneath the surface to find anything else.
