Nike is projected to make $50mm off Caitlan deal in the first two years, and the contract is for longer than that. Do you think they just randomly decided to endorse her without doing a cost benefit / risk analysis? If these same penny pinchers had been around when we landed Lebron or he-l, Jordan, where would we be?

28-30 million is 28-30 million no matter what it's spent on. CEO or Athlete.

Be mad that Mr responsible, jd, will be paid 30+ million. Don’t be mad that someone with talent is getting paid.

money is money no matter where or how it's spent. let's just hope this is a good move for NIKE unlike CDA... my thinking is this won't pop off like the Jordan deal.

The two things are not related to each other. They are completely different pools of money. The choice was never "sign Caitlin Clark or keep 700 employees". Not even close.

Employees exist to serve athletes, not the other way around.

OP here. The post is not trying to bash the WNBA but moreso on the sheer amount of $$$ that NIKE is spending now to "cost save".

Good thing we don't need WNBA to be profitable to make money off it

WNBA was never profitable in its entire history.

Right, your bit-ch-ing about the 28 mil deal she's getting. GTFO. This is a steal for Nike. She's top brass and will help rake in $$$$.
