Thread regarding Nike Inc. layoffs

People Managers.. did you have any input into the changes?

Just looking for some honesty.

People Manager here… I lost 2 people in Phase 1 and 1 of them was highly critical to our business. I had no input to any of it. Nike’s cutting some amazing, talented people.

They should have talked with Managers and Directors.

Director level here. No direct decision ownership. Proactively shared IDPs, career conversations, and development plans with my Sr. Director. Hopeful it made a difference in the long run. Now waiting to see how everything shakes out with everyone else.

I gave input about my bottom performers, but they cut from the bottom & the top. For headcount & money I suppose.

I lost people on my team in Phase 1 and not only did I have no input, I received no acknowledgement or communication after the fact, other than the automated email that their Box folders have been moved to my Box space.

I am a senior director. The VP did not ask me for my opinion at any time, but during my meetings with her, I did volunteer information about the top performers on my team. Unfortunately, two of my top performers were let go - I am not sure why. I also informed her of my bottom performers, and both of them were let go as well. I had no idea at any time how many people they were looking to cut from my team or org.

Have not even been asked questions about my team!
So someone is making decisions in isolation without the person who knows their people best!!!

People manager here. No I have no idea if my people are staying or going but I had conversations with my leader for the last two months where they asked my ideal org structure and they said they took that into consideration for the restructure

Almost always. They will say no to wash their hands off. But they have a say, from the list they prepared and passed it on.
