There is a phrase in my local language that loosely translates as “ the lion has tasted blood”.

The leadership has realized that headcount reduction is an easy way to show profitability . This “transformation” will continue for next 5-7 years till the organization gets rid of all older, experienced employees.

The new CEO will then start re-hiring them back once the short term gains turn into long term loses.
