No email went out this morning. Probably just doing a "restructuring" layoff.

I have had 2 L2 tell me that a RIF was mentioned in a managers staff meeting this week. No details were given in the meeting.

First off no one in the lower management would have a clue what’s happening so it’s business as usual until it happens. Nothing points to impending doom here at the moment. I’m working right now and it feels like every other day. I wish we had more answers and confirmation that it’s set in stone, but it’s not we don’t know who will get hit and who will be spared until it happens. The only thing I can see is dread from my teammates as they have heard this may happen. No one will sleep good tonight.

My frontline department sent out an email with updates for policy, so I’m thinking not every frontline department if rumor is truth.

There is a lot of talk on here but are lay offs actually happening? Are frontline senior associates going to be affected?

So what is the scope of the layoff? Do we know if it extends beyond the Frontline team and Frontline L3 - L6? I suppose many L1 and L2 roles could be eliminated?

I work for a team that they initially tried to outsource to Jamaica but the Jamaicans were, and are, so incompetent as to be laughable. Now they are moving our jobs to India and the Indians can't seem to perform even the most basic task without effing it up. Wayfair may save money by hiring these people but customers will not put up with the stupidity demonstrated by the offshore teams. Our tools are garbage and fail sometimes multiple times a day. NA folks know the work-arounds that are necessary to get the job done but it takes a toll. Like a lot of people, I am almost looking forward to being let go, it's such a sh-t show.

There's not really much to copy/paste from Blind. It's the same as on here. No one really knows. We're all waiting for Froday. And if nothing happens Froday we'll wait next friday.

I hate that we’re dealing with layoff rumors AGAIN but the corny “they’re just using us and tossing us aside” sh-t has got to stop.

Learn how the game works, any company you work for is USING YOU. All the “we’re a family” sh-t is to get you to work more for less money. Of course you are being used, use them back! Work less, take longer breaks, “forget” to enter PTO in workday, over exaggerate everything you do on your performance review, do whatever you can to get more money for less work.

Genuinely hope this helps anyone who’s emotionally hurt by this, you have every right to be angry but lose the idea that any workplace beyond a small, truly “family” owned business cares about you, and even in that scenario, watch your back. Good luck out there.

I am so stressed out at this point it’s a disappointment to not be part of the layoff bunch. give me some money to go away and I would gladly do it.

So I’m guessing the 21 is the new date. So I’m guessing the layoff is for l3 and above? I just want to know if I’m waking up Friday to a layoff email. I’m in digital and it’s bad.

Just saw first hand overseas sc--w up in chat. Customer was told we would call her to reschedule and she’s waited for days on a call. I told her to call in going forward, do not use Chat. Customers deserve correct information.

I can’t speak for other departments and how bad it’s been for the last 6-7 months, for frontline digital/flex/phones it’s been a nightmare for us. The goal posts keeping moving and if feels like everything is working against us. I wholeheartedly believe they have enacted tactics to purposely push us to the point we quit. Then backfill our job with 10 Jamaican agents. Those of us who are still here have endured some really bad changes. That wasn’t the plan. They wanted us to just leave. You’re going against the intended outcome. Wayfair isn’t the first to do this there are articles about other big companies. Slowly making working conditions unbearable in the hopes employees would quit on their own. The last thing they want to do is give out salaries without you working for it. Even if it’s just a few weeks or months depending on your tenure. If you make it past this round, there will be another. After they implement more workday torture, again with the hopes of thinning the herd. Right now we are all just circling the bowl waiting for the final flush. The last post advised don’t over work yourself, I couldn’t agree more. Work the bare minimum at this point. They have allowed the overseas teams to do it, there is no reason to stress more over a job and company who are just counting the days to your departure.

No matter how much we rebel on the layoff.

They can easily find replacement for us, job market is crazy. People are ready to take any job at any salary.

We can talk about how bad everything is for a few weeks and then everyone will be back to normal like how it happened after last 4 layoffs.

The best you can do if you survive this layoff is to take your job less serious. Take more time off, take sick leaves and don’t over work or be passionate about Wayfair. No, you are not getting that promotion by overworking, promotion means you are expensive and gone by next layoff.

Company will save millions after firing all those good employees who worked hard to be L3, L4 or more and then suddenly the L1 and L2 are expected to work more and above their pay grade so company can make more revenue.

F*** It, I am not giving my 50% efforts also to this company anymore

The new update I got about Layoff:

Not all Customer Support teams is being laid off, big outsourcing will happen but team leads will stay only lower levels are being affected for front line.

For other departments major restructuring is happening L3, L4 are gonna be laid off. 50% of them gone.

Few departments will be shut down completely where L2s will also be affected

L5s will have restructured roles.

Even if this turns out to be nothing the stress that goes with it like every 6 months now it's insane. It's a endless game of Russian Roulette that no one signed up for. This company in infamous trying new things without thinking the consequences. It's time to consumers wake up and stop spending their money overseas. On top of that the teams oveeseas who are doing, they are not doing the tickets. They close without doing anything. We are picking their slack. We are doing double the work. Now who is going to pick up the slack if we leave? The person who buys from wayfair needs to pray nothing goes wrong otherwise you are F*cked!

You can’t see any post on Blind without confirming your WF email address. If you forget yr password, you can NEVER get back in. Links from Blind won’t be visible unless you are signed into your account.
That’s why you can’t see the post in the link above.

Copying from Blind…

That it’s across EU & NA, that they are targeting L3s , L4s & L5s. Backfilling with L1s and offshore

Being discussed in Boston and Europe with L6 leads over past few weeks

Bigger than Jan.

Every large RIF has been on the 3rd Friday of the month (on a payday in the US). Perhaps they’ll do something different, but historically, this has been the trend.

The signs have been there for months that things were happening in digital. This has been in the works since they hired the Jamaican team for seasonal help during peak and they never left, they continually hired more there. Niraj, has said it more than once he wants to limit the remote workers. The Jamaican team will fully take over digital, escalations and regular frontline calls can be done in Athens. The IBR, moving US digital to phones, the update in service hub that makes working orders take more time, the legacy view only being taken away from frontline and the AI system they have been trying to put in place. Everything points to frontline being on the chopping block.

From Blind (30 minutes ago)

This will heavily target frontline based teams. Without revealing too much, when we worked through the most recent budget plans, there was already a plan to squeeze through offshoring as much of the work we could. They’ll keep a small localized base in the US to handle escalation related events, but most frontline teams can expect to be reduced significantly. I expected this to happen later in the year, but looks like timelines have shifted.

At the end of the day we are all getting f-ked one way or another they don’t appreciate us they use/used us and now we are sitting here waiting to see what happens not knowing if we are going to have a job or not only thing faithful in life is our bills and Wayfair seems to only care about taking advantage of overseas ppl

I hope it is true! This place has become a hazardous job for everyone’s mental health! Does everyone enjoy watching them take more and more tools from frontline then have the nerve to ask if we feel we have the tools to do our job? Do you walk away at the end of your shift on a day that all you processed was damage defect items and a majority was high cost resolutions knowing you are going to take the hit for something you had nothing to do with? How about the fact none of our managers can explain why they are forcing agents on phones who never applied for that function? Go look at the availability to take time off, they block weeks at a time. People are having to resort to trading shifts! No where have I ever worked where this kind of stuff happens. I’ve never been held accountable for something completely out of my control like FedEx damaging an item and still delivering it. First call resolutions, we have to find some way to control someone calling back? How about the fact that if you have worked here more than 3 years you know our main job was not fixing a majority of orders that were worked by a team who gets no punishment for messing up things on purpose, not taking care of an order because a customer asked for a full refund. And out right leaving expectations that don’t exist. Wayfair pays that team $300 a month! They do not care what they do or how much work they create for the tenured agents. This layoff sounds like a blessing to me at this point.
