Thread regarding CVS layoffs

Layoffs confirmed on Medicare town hall yesterday

No mention of what areas of the organization will be hit or when. This feels like last summer all over again. There must be something wrong with me. I don’t know how to stop thinking about it or how to keep up appearances of a positive attitude with my team and colleagues. I sat in my car crying for 15 minutes before forcing myself to get out and walk into the office. I don’t know how/if I can fake it anymore which makes me more worried. Because I don’t want to be labeled as negative or not a team player.

I work there now, have good reliable sources. Layoffs are off the table until they see the next quarterly earnings report. If there is no significant improvement, then layoffs are likely to happen, probably management.

For those who attended the Town Hall on Monday, what was actually said about layoffs? I also wasn’t able to be there.

"What is the Aetna town hall on June 18th for then?" Let everyone in the US know they are all 100% replaceable with overseas workers and AI, and everyone is in notice.

Was this related to the investor news or more recent performance data?

As someone that was affected last year, if you think for one minute it may be you, start looking now. The job market is brutal and many are having to take positions that are a step-down from where they were. It is also saturated with all of the layoffs going on around the country.

Prayers for all of you. I am sorry this looks to be happening again. Thank goodness KL got her millions in bonus.

Confirmed, this was true final question on town hall and indicated tough decisions will need to be made. Read between the lines, they confirmed. Conjecture is these will be announced in weeks not months. Shukla confirmed.

Is this the same team they said to work overtime to catch up with all the backlog. Not too long ago they ask us to survey our leadership since the rating was below average

So many at CVS are so fragile and neurotic. So glad I got out of that place. Embarrassing to see the reactions on here and realize you all used to be my coworkers. No wonder that place is so mismanaged.

CVS also offers counseling for free. It is confidential. I’ve tried it. If you want someone to talk to, that is an option.

I would say you shouldn’t fake it. Tell someone how you feel — a work friend, a non-work friend, family member, etc. It’s too much to hold in by yourself. This is obviously a horrifying bit of news but I encourage you, for your mental health, to stay present instead of borrowing anguish from the future. You don’t need to be a perfect team player. You just need to be yourself and take care of you.
