Thread regarding Oracle Corp. layoffs

Oracle advertising

In the earnings call Safra mentioned that in Q4 they decided to exit the advertising business. All hands scheduled for tomorrow. What does this mean?

Prediction: 50%+ of people informed of RIF next week, with effective dates at EOM where local legal allows.

Who needs sales if you’re not selling?

Lmao, no surprise it's a mess. Shoot first, don't ask questions later.

I exited two years ago because it was evident Oracle is risk-averse and OA management has their own ideas, and tried to work in a vacuum. Oracle is a good company. OA sr management didn't understand Oracle priorities and risk appetite.

Great workers overshadowed by some select poor leadership. Problem didn't go away when Roza left, but I had hopes.

Prayers for all of you. Time to head to Boulder for jobs in the industry.

OA (nee' ODC) is done. People updating Linkedin and looking for new roles. Quite a rollercoaster 10yr run. Good luck to everyone searching -- lot of good folks there.

How long will it take for management to come up with an action plan? who get the shaft and who stays, what's the package, etc.

Didnt fire the leadership when they needed to! Didn't think about culture. It was a finger pointing & HR investigations nightmare for people that tried to do the work. The best you grew is by sitting on your dining table asking folks if things were done! Sad end. Some really great people there but a lot of bench warmers!

It sounds like no one knows anything including the upper management.

Pack your bags everyone. I give it 90-180 days before all roles are eliminated
