Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

The true purpose of DEI

The reason corporations have embraced DEI is simple. A tried and true technique for controlling a group of people is divide and conquer. When executives cynically realized they could use DEI as another tool in a divide and conquer strategy of control they embraced it enthusiastically.

They are PURPOSELY creating divisions and being over the top with it. As long as you are fighting each other, you aren't fighting them.

Unfortunately, there are a lot of stupid sheep out there that actually take things said by our leaders at actual face value. Wake the F up.

Pity the poor downtrodden straight white male. He has to work next to women. And brown people. And g-y people. Well, he does if he has to actually go to work.

But even if he doesn’t he has to see them on calls. On his computer! In his house !!! Next thing you know, one of those people will be his boss.

How will they know he’s better than they are then? OH!

Pity the poor white male.

Divide and conquer, yes, to a degree.
But the reality is we cannot, under any circumstances, have people look at how the results never change, year after year, decade after decade, no matter how much is done, no matter how much money is spent.
The grifting and scams must continue, and after DEI and CRT are dead and buried, some other BS will be promoted to continue the rip offs.

in Wells, DEI philosophy is being puppeteered by executive White men against rank-and-file White men using minorities as buffers and human shields.

I think you are all wrong. There is a simple explanation. It is a stupid philosophy implemented by stupid people. There is no mass conspiracy. Sure, they hate straight white men but this is not a hidden agenda.

@aja+1sXh95Tu you are making the OP's point. Companies have always wanted to replace more expensive workers with less expensive ones. One variant of that is replacing more expensive older workers with cheaper younger ones. However you think DEI is being exploited, whether as part of divide and conquer or to entice young, cheap workers to join the company, the point is that it is serving the company's bottom-line. It has nothing to do with making society better. When DEI no longer serves useful to the bottom-line it goes away.

Not to worry -- DE&I efforts and resources are in decline in much of corporate America. It's finally showing itself to be the window dressing it always was.

Yes. As long as your comparing your situation to some qu--r or a destitute Indian you feel better. If you started comparing your situation to that of executive management?
