All of the remote employees that I work with are saying they aren’t impacted since their BU went remote. Just curious if there are actually any remote employees that have to come in now?

I have been work from home since I was hired 10 years ago. I regularly collaborate with three other people, none of whom will be in an office anywhere and the closest one to me is 1,000 miles away in Georgia. I am being forced into the Hartford office three days a week. They are doing this because they want people to quit rather than having to lay them off and apply for unemployment. They are flat out lying when they say they are doing this to promote culture and collaboration.

If you're one of the unfortunate folks that's impacted by this unfair, arbatrary policy, hit them where it hurts, their wallets. Make sure your organization's cost center is getting charged for the desk space, office services/equipment, etc. I guarantee you that no one budgeted office space costs into their yearly expenses.
You can't spell CVS without the 'C' and the 'C' stands for CHEAP!
Was just informed that this mandate is being rolled out everywhere. RI and CT was the first wave. Can’t wait to see all the extra productivity.
I agree with the poster that stated its to push people out so as to not pay to lay them off. Did the same last year, didn’t work, and many were laid off. Probably will not work this year neither.
Of course lets not forget that it will cost the company money for employees to return to the office. There are no longer desk setups so they'll all have to order equipment and desk space.
Don't take this the wrong way. They have decided to do this for some time. If someone trys to throw you under the bus then do what you need to.
There is an entire department that JUST went fully remote about 1 month ago.
Like a couple hundred people all under this one exec director.
They are now being forced back after being 1 day a week.
There are quite a few I know personally who are now looking at leaving since they were willing to do 1 day not 3 and they live in Mass and so Boston is equally as far as Woonsocket and pays double .
Yes, we have one person in our group that unfortunately lives approx. 20 miles away from Hartford. This person has been fully work from home for the past +10 years. But now, is being asked to come into the office (the only one in the group). How ridiculous is this?
Again, this isn't about collaboration...they want folks to seek employment elsewhere prior to the August layoffs. This is the cheaper option for them.
I have been remote for over 5 years, way before covid. No one that I work with is in my state, let alone the same time zone. I guess I’ll go collaborate with myself in the corner.
I am, I am in the HFD office and manage a few employees all of who are remote in other states. I am required to return to the office even though I have been WFH for over 12 years.
