Last Paycheck - paper or still direct deposit? How quickly does the Mobility discount go away?

I'm leaving soon but want to understand if my last paycheck with any unused PTO is sent via mail (paper) or direct deposit. Also looking to see how quickly the 50% discount changes to 30% (I meet MR75). Peace out.

"In response, I retired from the company over 5 years ago. Last check for me at that time was a paper check sent to my home address via US Postal mail.

I was informed at that time Direct Deposit was not an option."

Not anymore. I left a few weeks ago. It's all direct deposit, just like your regular paycheck. The paycheck will include any accrued PTO not yet taken. Expect to wait for 2 pay cycles for Fidelity to receive all of your separation paperwork so that you can safely rollover your 401K, if you decide to do that. The same is true if you are activating your pension and getting a lump sum. Although I had filled out all of the pension paperwork well over a month before my last day, they still waited for 2 pay cycles to get everything finalized. Several days later, I got an email that the pension process activation was complete and got a preliminary date for receiving my lump sum check. Pensions are different than 401Ks because there are many pension plans and different ways of collecting payment, but in my case, the pension record keeper mails you the pension check through US mail and there was no other away to get the funds. With my 401K rollover checks, I was able to have them overnight it to my address (made out to a financial institution- not FIdelity- that I use and FBO to me) via UPS.

I decided to go with T-Mobile rather than the retiree discount because T-mobile was cheaper for me, even with the discount. Of course, everyone's situation may be different. Good luck! Life after T is great!

In response, I retired from the company over 5 years ago. Last check for me at that time was a paper check sent to my home address via US Postal mail.

I was informed at that time Direct Deposit was not an option.

If you have the option to sign up for the US Postal Service’s “Informed Delivery”, I highly recommend it. You can read all about how it works on their WEB site.

Good Luck to you

"If you have, say 25 years but only age 45, it won’t count."

Well. Yeah. That doesn't even add up to 75. Maybe 26 years and 49 age is a better example.

Just as info - MR75 @ AT&T has 3 tiers.
You can have 30+ years & be any agr
You can have 25 years, and be 50+
You can have 20 years and be 55+

If you have, say 25 years but only age 45, it won’t count.

See lots of concern expressed here over losing employee mobility discount, eligibility for retiree mobility discount, etc.

You can easily beat the employee discount and significantly beat the retiree discount as a regular customer elsewhere.

You need to stop fretting over this.

Discount was gone after 3 billing cycles, T-Mobil will pay off your device and give you a better rate than India Telephone and Telegraph.

Are they able to add the $500 retirement party to your last paycheck? That's the first I've heard of that. That would be great, if true. Has anyone been able to do this I'm management not moving to Dallas and "retiring" later this year.

So if you are Mr75 and “retire”, the employee discounted rate for phone 📱 should — is this correct?

If you're union then your PTO won't be prorated. You get paid out whatever you have left for the year.

I was MR75 as well and the discount changed about 3 bill cycles after my last day on payroll. I highly recommend you take a look at the dental/vision and ancillary benefits you DO have available to you as a retiree as they are well worth it, or at least are to me. Download the Retiree guide from the HR site to have on hand after you leave as a reference. You will also be given the opportunity to select your retiree gift and there are funds allotted for your retirement 'party' - ask to have those funds added to your last paycheck. Concerning PTO, keep in mind that it will be prorated. Specifically, however much PTO you have accrued up until your last day and not used will be what you are entitled to...this info is listed on HR. ( i was an L2 mgr when surplussed).

MR75 is no longer an actual milestone.

For most, the discounts go away next billing cycle unless, it’s changed recently. That’s one area they are prompt and very accurate on. Wish we could say the same for customer no service and employee treatment.
