Thread regarding CVS layoffs

It’s simple folks

Consider yourselves fortunate to have a job at all. This is such a first world problem. The complaining will do nothing to change the policy and only makes you look like an entitled id--t. CVS owes you NOTHING! No one is special and everyone is replaceable. The choice is simple, comply or quit.

Also here’s a friendly reminder - CVS pays you to provide a serve and is therefore your customer. Don’t like? Resign and make room for someone with enough mental fortitude to tolerate the horrors of working in an air conditioned office.

Seriously, the comedy on this site is spectacular.

Reading the comments on this board and assuming that some of these people are actually an employees and some present themselves as leaders is scary but reenforces why it is such a toxic work culture.

@fiy+1sViQjDW there is no benefit to my presence at an office. I'm sorry that you are undisciplined or are otherwise unable to produce results without someone breathing down your neck.

It’s not within 25 miles that rule only applies for some. Read the policy.

It is a big deal if you have worked all day then most of the night and have to worry more about a badge swipe then sleep, health and safety.

The culture differences within the enterprise are so different. My area is wonderful and I’ve had nothing but positive experiences. We’ve faced challenges as a team and org, but have worked hard to over come them. It’s sad other areas aren’t experiencing the same. Our team works hard and appreciates each other and we are well rewarded. We did have to cut back some of our travel this year but overall all still a great place to work.

I’ve learned long ago that everyone has a story, work is best when you leave your personal sh-t at the door. Take some accountability and handle your own situation and stop relying on your job to do it for you. What’s wrong with 2 days at home 3 in the office? It only applies of you’re in a 25 mile radius. What’s the big deal?

CVS will realize soon enough that there isn’t enough of a talent pool around their janky old office buildings and they’ll have to go back to accepting remote positions eventually. Also employment is not a one way street. Employees are not “fortunate” to work for CVS. Cvs doesn’t value any of them, doesn’t provide adequate health insurance, doesn’t provide raises in line with cost of living, doesn’t adapt to employee needs. CVS is fortunate that more people haven’t resigned in masses (yet). Maybe if their culture was better or if they had better office environments, RTO wouldn’t be so bad. But until then, remote work stays.

These come to the office or leave folks probably have a set schedule, take lunch, breaks and the like not realizing there are many roles that have to work in several time zones, perform late night or early morning activities almost daily. Others may have relocated during the pandemic and now have a long drive.

Before posting these tough guy comments try to consider the situation of others. This should not be a one size fits all policy

“CVS pays you to provide a serve”. Sounds like an HR shill educated at one of the finest CT Community Colleges. Comedy on this site? We think not. Retaliation, bullying, law breaking, intimidation, wire fraud and mail fraud. You are a Mo--n.

Was there ever a time that continuous employment wasn’t needed in order to remain housed? I get it, the RTO policy may not be attractive to most but no one is forced to work here correct? If it’s so bad and causing so much mental anguish then why not find a new job?

It's more complicated when you consider that we live in a slave nation where things like health insurance are tied to continuing employment, or baseline cost of living being "optimized" such that continual employment is necessary to remain housed.
