Internal Interview scheduled with Teams

Does anyone have any experience with doing an internal interview via Teams? I have an interview coming up in a few weeks and just wanted to know if is usually done with a camera or off
Camera. Also, what kind of questions are usually asked? Greatly appreciate any feedback.

I have 2 recently. Its wasn’t mentioned for either but I assumed camera on, basically treating it like an in person interview. When I joined my camera was on and so was everyone else’s.

My comment is directly below this - wanted to add a little more.

Some invites may say "camera on." Ours do. But ask HR if they don't specify and HR will verify with the HM.

But if you want to play it safe, I would recommend being ready in case it is an "on camera" interview. Camera working, you're presentable - that type of thing. This way you're prepared for whatever scenario it turns out to be and if you get to the interview and all the panelists are on camera you're ready to go. (And I would recommend that if all the panelists have their camera on that you turn yours on as well.)

The HM should let the recruiter know what they prefer so HR should know if you ask.

Having participated in interviews where the expectation was camera on, as a candidate you'll want to be sure your camera is functioning before the call so that when you join it works. If you can't be fussed to even turn it on (not even try vs can't get it to work) know that it does not leave the people interviewing you with a good impression. We have given grace (rescheduled the interview) to people who had difficulty getting their camera to work. We have not hired anyone who didn't follow the instructions to have it on.

And I'm not someone who prefers to have a camera on, but my other panelists do so that's what we do.

Unfortunately, they went with another candidate.

Presume cams on, but it really depends entirely on the HM. I've been on cam twice in 20 years at WF.

Try not to have the camera. I had one with the camera. One look at me they realized my age... and that was the end of that.

@clg sounds like a boomer

OP - I've had both audio only and video.

Best thing to do is ask the recruiter which it will be. That's what I did.

You should always expect the camera to be on. It's annoying when people speak in a meeting and they don't have their camera on

I had an internal interview and didn’t know they expected my camera to be on.

Third question: How the heck did your resume got picked up? I am in Risk and all the jobs I applied went to external folks (mostly from JP). Tell us the secrets

Second Question. You would be working very closely with a large team based in India. How comfortable are you with that?

First Question.

How do you feel being let go ask fired, 1 to 3 months after we hire you?
