Thread regarding Nike Inc. layoffs

The only way to get Nike to listen!

Seriously, go to the media with this stuff. The company is corrupt. It’s defrauding its consumers, shareholders and employees. The former CDIO RL and his side piece LJ literally VIOLATED SEC REGULATIONS and got a man fired for trying to report it?!?! And yet no major story on what was happening. It’s time Nike and the corrupt and vile SLT/ELT is held accountable.

A WSJ reporter is working on a story about this right now. I seriously encourage ANYONE with knowledge about their shady deals, constant travel (for vendor sponsored events, always), ghost contractors or whatever should go to the media. This is seriously the only way to hold Nike (and its “servant leaders”) accountable. If Nike didn’t change the email retention/slack policy I would have stuff but of course they changed it and until recently I didn’t think about documenting it.

Id--t. The media would love a hit piece. It will fix nothing and help nobody. You’re in the company, if you can’t be heard than the company won’t be saved.

If there wasn’t a good faith process and documentation behind it I feel like a lot of people will be gone. Now, did they skew the needs or feed info on the side to someone they wanted to win? That sounds more likely but harder to prove. A good bid process is only as good as what you give the procurement people and they don’t define the needs.

As for why that guy was let go it could all be true. It could all be hunting for a reason to get a settlement. I always think the truth is somewhere in the middle. I can’t see where RL or LJ could influence his departure to cover up anything given he wasn’t in Tech, right? He was outside Tech?

Reach out to Init with the WSJ. I’m guessing that’s who OP is talking about.

I’m amazed there hasn’t been any coverage. Scandalous. Meanwhile: https://fortune.com/2024/06/03/facebook-nike-dei-diversity-manager-sentenced-5-years-5m-fraud-attorney-barbara-furlow-smiles/

RL & LJ colluded to defraud Nike of millions of dollars just like they did to Kohls (why they were all fired from there). They gave unfair advantages to companies in exchange for kickbacks and created shell companies in India then signed contracts w/ them for millions in contract labor that didn’t exist - they pocketed this money. There is an active SEC investigation going on due to the SOX violations. They want it covered up, which is why Nike & Kohls didn’t prosecute - they don’t want to look like the gullible id--ts they are, after all, our fancy JD tech guru was in charge of the CDIO when this all happened - not a good look. The lawsuit is from a procurement guy who refused to be involved in SOX violations and so they fired him. I’ll bet they settle with him to try and keep it hush-hush. Wouldn’t surprise me if more lawsuits emerge. The press is on to them, if you know anything reach out to that Kish reporter guy who is trying to gather enough intel for a story into what is really happening at Nike.

preferential contracts without doing a good faith bidding process and a host of other shady processes meant to milk Nike of money
