Thread regarding Nike Inc. layoffs

Are the layoffs actually over? I know someone in Supply Chain that got laid off yesterday with the same severance.

NA Supply Chain needs so much cleaning. It’s just layers and layers of Sr. Directors and Directors that build empty empires under them that demonstrate no innovation or results.

Tell them to drop everything and have a single priority and these leaders may just deliver results on something they should have been striving to do anyway.

The new leaders hired from Amazon don’t have a vision and they were supposed to be our saving grace. These leaders have just attached themselves to the most political old timer Nike employees to coast just as those employees are coasting.

Ignore that last guy.

Nike isn’t failing. They’re doing better now than they ever have in history. They’re doing better than all the top competitors combined.

This sense of failure is self made and pushed top down. It is designed to create tension, and fear, with the idea that these things amplify productivity. And you’re falling for it.

It’s time to face reality, Nike is failing & the layoffs will continue with the current direction. Nike isn’t cool or edgy anymore & anyone under 30 isn’t wearing it. The current CEO is a software clown not a brand builder. He has had 4 years & there is plan to resurrect the brand. All he knows is reducing cost, Nike is poorly run so the only available cost cutting is employee cost. Brand resurgence is possible with competent leadership look at Gap. It was circling the drain a year ago. MP needs to fire JD before it’s too late.

June 28th is the last day of employment for those laid off in April. As part of the WARN filing, the 60 days takes those laid off in April until June 28th. The folks I know of that got laid off in the last week or so are on the books until early August.

"... by JUNE 28, approximately 740 employees at the One Bowerman Drive location will have been laid off". The WARN filing specifies June 28 so, not yet.

Nope I know someone in supply chain that was laid off two weeks ago. I think they’re silently still adjusting

They will never be over, JD promised his bosses $2B in cost reductions. Since Nike is a total shi* show the only way to realize cost reductions like that is through layoffs.
