ex oracle here....I didn't really come on here until things got back for me at oracle and realized lots of the mgt of my GBU were human carcasses carrying disease and famine...with that being said, getting laid off at Oracle is something all Oracle people are aware of, but you jjust cant wake up every day worrying about it or you will really not survive. my old GBU was always acting like things were great and then poof! an entire product line was gone along with their old team and VP's and SVP's still just smiling suggesting things are ok. My advice to younger self was to align yourself with skills and not people and products. Unless theyre the biggies like Oracle SCM, ERP, OBIEE...you know...the stuff that keeps the boat afloat. All those side products, the ones in the GBU, easily replaced by a ton of cheaper cloud based products. It was nice of Google and MSFT to toss Oracle a bone. That should keep layoffs off for at least another 27 days. hahahahahahahahaa.
They forgot what ex-Oracle executive was on the Paramount board.
Payback time. Slow but sweet revenge.
