Trying to hone in on the criterion used for those that got the notice from Sam. For those that did get the 'You are eligible' email, could you post the following details?

And in taking it because I don't want to be here to clean up the fallout of everyone leaving. I can walk into any ATT office and work business sales the next day.

Worked remotely for over 15 years and now told I have to go into the office 3 days a week
- 5 years of service
66 and Will be able to get social security in October so I’ve been contemplating retiring. Now it’s a sure thing!!
I didn’t take the last one because I was dealing with health issues. So I’m out of here! Oh and for those worrying about losing the knowledge, yes you will and it will be hard but others will step up. It’s what happened last time.
Don’t get me wrong, it’s hard leaving after 31 years but this couldn’t come at a better time for me.
You can find details by leader, age, and title on the microsite. There’s a report to download with the information. It won’t give you tenure or working model, however.
GNT. WFH with over 30 years service. Got it, excited.
Jumping to the next bracket does not mean the new rate applies to your entire income that year. Just whatever is above the threshold for the new bracket.
The "tax rate" isn't 22% on severance, that's the "withholding." Just like if you win the lottery, the federal withholding is 20%, but you could still owe more.
If you make enough money, or get a job quick enough, you could jump easily to the next bracket.

Most likely not going to take it. The 3 weeks is nice, but job market is not very favorable right now. Seeing a lot of salaries come down.
Plus the tax hit in Sept is going to be horrible.
A lot to consider.
The amount they payout to go away is very tempting. Stay and play Survivor is also not favorable.
I am VZB Band 6, heard nothing on RTO. I did get the offer and taking it! I can’t wait to hit the button.
Band 6 and was told because of today we’re going from hybrid to fully remote.
severance is taxed at the supplemental rate - 22% for federal
- 5 yrs. Remote but my whole team got the notice and we are a mix of hybrid and remote.
VBG. 6v band.
Not sure if I will take it. The Hans email talks about significant restructuring afterwards- would be nice to know what that meant to help with the decision.
Whoever said your tax bracket wouldnt change is either very low paid, very short tenure, or both. Plenty of people will likely jump from the 22% to 32% bracket with this. If your separation is 9/13, youve made 3/4 of your annual salary plus bonus already. If you cash out the max 60 weeks, plus STI, plus stock together, plus maximized vacation, that would put a person well into the 32% bracket from the 22%. Something to keep in mind for sure.
20+ years VGS. Was going to retire later this year hopefully they let me take the VSP.
Got it

I'm thinking the take rate will be over 50%. Any idea what their target is? I don't want to stay with all that knowledge leaving
VBG 29 years, it’s ok I don’t make 30. I am taking it.
I got the email from Sam.

Maybe being retirement eligible helps
LTI = stock together
@Larry I think you mean STI, not LTI. Band 6 wouldn't get LTI unless something has changed.
I'm also in Ashburn and I'm taking the offer BTW.
VCG Supply chain management employees are eligible.
Why would they send the first letter to everyone and then the details only to those who are eligible? Nice way to paralyze the workforce for an entire day.
It’s just withholding at the highest rate, your tax bracket is still the same. You’ll get back anything you overpaid when you file your return.
All my group got the email. Taxes are going to take a big chunk.
Last time this happened, a lot of people who did not take the offer were still laid off, but of course they did not get the extra pay.
In GNT band 6 haven’t gotten notified yet and neither have my coworkers.
I got the email from Sam.
RTO situation: Hybrid- Ashburn office
Number Years tenure: 19

3 weeks of severance per year!
My total payout would be $187k including the LTI. I will probably stay as I don’t want to look in this job market.
@ldz+1sRr1KV3 what's your main hub? Role? Etc?
I was told we were permanent wfh because of today.
Did anyone get the notice from her yet?
