Self Eval deadline missed in workday

What if you do not meet the deadline for the self eval? I've been looking for corrective actions in the employee handbook and on Reddit and have found none. Are there repercussions?

It was an accident, I thought it was due Monday AM. but I've seen on this board that they do not have any right to force complete them so there is no consequences if you do not? Anyone know?

self evals are optional - they cannot be required, so no punitive measures, but you do miss your opportunity to have your content considered by your manager when they write your review.

You should write yours and send it to your manager as a word doc, explaining that you thought you had submitted it but you see it as blank in workday. Request that the manager send it back to you - Managers can send the self assessment back to the individual.

I know one person who never did a self evaluation without any repercussions. A firm with an asset cap, consent decrees and growing union is poorly managed so I don't care what management thinks Wells Fargo is a terrible company that should be shut down.

@ovw+1sRimqLN, you might get laid off before the year end, then it's too late.

Your management team determines if it’s mandatory. They should have told you.

It's never been mandatory. I leave it blank or add minimal info. The year end is more important.

Your manager can send it back to you to add info.

OP,
Your sc--wed. You are now on the short list.

your manager can kick it back to you. While they are optional they are usually highly encouraged. Additionally, your manager is writing a mid year review and rating you. Just like with year end this is your chance to plead you case and also have evidence of you get a bad rating and your self eval is vastly different from your managers review. Just spend a few minutes and do it.

Just send to your manager in a word doc. And ask if he can put in their section highlighting it's self review. He can add his to the bottom.

Managers can't "open" them back up. It's in HRs hands now.

They SAY that it's optional, but they also track who doesn't do it and report it to higher ups. There's no way that they do so for your benefit. Whomever spends their day making these kinds of useless lists should be downsized so that maybe a useful employee can keep their job.

In my company, you can just do a write-up in word document or email and send it to your manager. I'm sure he/she can edit the review and add in your section or state that it was provided in an external attachment. And send it to someone in HR. They can most likely help you entering the info. Everyone is human and everyone forgets once in a while. So just talk your boss, or HR. I don't think it's a big deal. Don't feel bad or stressed or frustrated. Just make sure you have a write up before talking to your boss or HR. And tell them you can email it to them right away.

Our group in CLT was required to do a write-up so they must need them for something...

It’s not mandatory so I doubt there are official repercussions, but not doing it doesn’t exactly help your manager remember all you’ve done so far this year. Which can hurt you when he has to justify your rating during calibration.

If your manager is cool, just explain your mistake to them and ask if you can send them a word doc version they can reference when they right your mid-year.

Pretty sure they're optional.

Midyears mean noticably less than annuals, which themselves don't really mean as much as people think (compared to the power of what the bosses really want).

Displacement culture, yes? maybe he's trying to make me sweat about it? I am curious if anyone has had any repercussions for not completing one.

This is where I saw that self evals are optional. It would make sense bc I cannot find a straightforward policy and HR was similarly vague https://www.thelayoff.com/t/1mTxknEs

I would have to think your manager would open it back up for you.
