Thread regarding Truist Bank layoffs

Leadership underperformance

Truist has reduced 3,500 teammates or about 8% since last year. Expenses are still only flat for 2024. 72 additional branches have been shuttered on top of over 800+ since the merger. There is still no commitment to reduce or hold growth in expenses in 2025. Wealth Management is expected to grow but what about other lending opportunities to have organic growth? Let’s see if they can deliver now since there will not be the three rate cuts that were baked into their forecast. Time to deliver. Or as I was always taught “Put up or Shut up “.

The leadership that didn't immediately plan on dumping corporate leases during week 2 of the pandemic is to blame for a lot of this bs. Just another example in a long line of examples of the lack of forethought and the reactionary nature of these fail-up, talentless, virtueless hacks.

Why do you think it’s only a small number of people posting? Some of these have thousands of views. The fact that there is a constant stream of posts on here suggests to me there are a LOT of people unhappy with Truist and the direction our cr-ppy leadership is taking us.

I do agree we should all be working on our resumes at this point. The ship is sinking and we should all be ready to jump before it goes under.

Energy working on resume might be time well spent vs focusing on this echo chamber reposting day after day from the same small number of people

Bill needs to go and take his other buddies with him. Perhaps he can join another bank and drive it into the ground as he has done here. Weakest leadership of all Peer banks IMHO.

Underperformance is an understatement. Our senior leadership is just awful. I saw someone use the term “SunTruist” in another post. Our leadership is running this bank into the ground the way they did SunTrust.

At Truist, they only teach us "Shut up".

Insults are more powerful when spelled correctly.
