For those in Charlotte, with the RTO now at 4 days a week, just curious of your thoughts on remaining at Truist vs looking at the plethora of other financial institutions just down the street?

Ally is full on woke, but has much better benefits. The subsidized cafe is great and they provide coffee. That being said, much of leadership was not promoted based on competence, and their is a high degree of hiring not on skill at the executive level, but who was buddies a decade ago. I would say base pay is on par, but Truist has a higher bonus ratio. However, Ally has never failed to pay near full bonuses. Also, 100 shares of stock a year and up to 10,000 to a 529 or to repay student loans.
Leave the financial services industry and go work in a different industry
Many companies are doing the RTO 3 days, 4 days & even full time. Personally, I would not job ship if RTO is the only reason. Truist will probably RTO, for most, full time Jan 2025.
Ally was my favorite job so far in my fintech career. They might pay a little less, but the culture there is unmatched and I didn’t have to pay for parking.
The other banks are mainly 3 days a week but Charlotte is putting the sc--ws to the companies. They are requiring 60% occupancy to receive tax breaks. This in theory would be achieved with 3 days a week in the office however with holidays, pto and lack of adherence to the rto mandates its falling short. This and CRE value are the real reasons for rto and not collaboration as is constantly said.
Avoid Wells, everyone I know there has left, trying to leave or waiting to get laid off.
Ally has a rto mandate, many teams 2x a week but I've heard it's not tracked on some.
Bank of America is 3 days a week rto and is tracked.
Note, This assumes you are wanting non-management roles. Management roles are typically 1 day more in office.
Are the other banks listed all 3 days a week in office still? The people I know at First Citizens are all remote but they’re not in Charlotte
My thoughts are I have a good job I loved and am looking aggressively to leave.
