Thread regarding Nike Inc. layoffs

Nike is still a great place to work

IF you're part of senior management. It's never been better to be them. It's just us on the bottom who are having a lousy time.

Yeah and they keep hiring Adidas dropouts into E bands in the last few years. Just look at NSRL. No room up here peasants!

Nike is a flaming tu-d fire, it’s no longer a cool place to work. You are significantly under paid, seriously go check the open market. The culture has eroded from one of at least civil to the freakin lord of the flies. There will be many more round of layoffs to satisfy JD’s promise to his bosses of saving $2B. Sure not going to save it through efficiency or technology. Sad to see a once great company steered straight into the ground.

The bo-m of Directors and Sr Directors started years ago when the U band stock options were taken away. It caused an outcry and push from employees to create more of those higher level positions. VP’s started creating Sr Directors and then those people created Director positions.
It’s sad that only a few of remain that knows the perks that have been taken away from the masses. Remember that previous changes cause more change and this past year will do the same for the next 5-10 years.
Profit Sharing included, which is a huge loss to our next generations. Basically profit sharing was a match of your bonus that was added to your retirement. So if you got a 5k bonus, before taxes, you got 5k in your profit sharing every year. That adds up.

someone that came from another fortune 100 company. Nike director / sr directors are indeed manager / director level at other companies.

For people who want to feel powerful because of a their position, maybe not, but for me, I'm totally on board with the compensation making it a great place to work.

To be fair, Director and Sr. Directors at Nike are the equivalent of managers and Directors (respectively) in other companies.

True* if by senior management you mean VP and above. There are waaaaaaaay too many directors and senior directors for there to be any associated privilege beyond the extra compensation. Life doesn’t really get good till you get that VP title
