They sent a workday login and temp password that....doesn't work. Is there anything significant there related to being dismissed or will they just send a box for the laptop ? Don't really want to email my monster direct report anymore than I need to. Thanks.

Yes it did not work. Email People Solutions for this and. My other layoff related things. They’ll fix it. They are also very kind.
This is legit, and is being fixed. The problem isn't with Workday. The only thing you will likely need there are payslips/W2's and possibly deferred comp, or other reasons you would be getting pay after termination to ensure your contact details are updated.
FYI, you can use Workday without being on a work computer.
Why would I lie? The email I got with the username and temp password doesn't work. So I don't know what to do besides email my tool of a boss after being let go and being like "hey, help?"

The Workday thing doesn’t matter and frankly doesn’t work if you aren’t an employee, because you need either a work PC or the app. Constant bumbling from HR will continue thru the layoff, including Cobra communications. All you need that would have been in workday is in your ADP login.
Everything you need to know will be in the Box folder they sent you, including equipment return info.
