“CT&O does a lot of work that most don't even know about, and the workload grows by the day”

The job is to work smart. CT&O failed.

@5nxk+1sFUFbSy true, CT&O is understaffed in a lot of key positions and has been for years. Legit top tier banks have dwarfed our technology investment. This bank should have never been allowed to exist.

To those of you complaining about the "bloat" in CT&O, you're obviously not in any of these affected areas. CT&O does a lot of work that most don't even know about, and the workload grows by the day. Teammates are working weekends, holidays, nights, during vacations; just to try to keep up and are rarely recognized or appreciated. So, please don't criticize what you don't understand.

To the person who commented, "I'm actually looking forward to people that want to work. This will be an exciting time!!" The vast majority of people in CT&O want to work. I don't know where you got the idea that all teammates in CT&O are lazy. Everyone I know works very hard and busts their butts for Truist.

I'm glad you're so excited that hundreds of people will be losing their jobs so Truist can outsource their positions to save a few bucks, which will likely be a disaster. Your SunTruist personality is shining through. Hope you're one of the first ones to be laid off so your job can be shipped overseas.

Dan is a hatchet man. He looks himself in the mirror and says "I'm a good guy." B- Patrick Bateman Jr. Lite.

I agree with the Dan comment. He’s so bad. All he knows is how to apply all the things that failed at SunTrust.

We’re doomed with Dan as our CTO

The impact here will be significant, especially for Ops teams in CT&O. The plan is to bring on upwards of 400 Accenture offshore by the end of the summer. That's a LOT of layoffs coming. I wonder how long it will take for them to realize that this approach will be an absolute train wreck??? As for Cisco taking over our complete network engineering and operations... we'll see how that goes.

And to the person who commented that this will be an "exciting time" - shame on you. Hundreds of good people are going to lose their jobs and you think it's exciting. That's absolutely disgusting.

As for the annoucement itself today, that was a shining example at how untrustworthy our senior leadership is. Dan keeps preaching "transparency" yet he went out of his way today to avoid saying what was really coming. Even after the meeting some of his trusted 'cronies' were telling teams that no FTE's would be impacted. We as teammates are tired of being lied to by our leadership. At this point maybe they won't have to lay anyone off as anyone in their right might would be trying to get out as soon as possible.

Honestly it's about time. Has anyone looked at the Org charts for these groups? There's about 8 layers between the grunt and the CEO. Most other orgs are like 5. Not only that, you have groups that should be about 5 FTE with 20 FTE plus 5 contractors. When you see the bloat, it's honestly an easy decision to outsource these FTE's. The common complaint is "we don't have enough people to get the work done" with a staff 5 times the size it should be. CTO has shot themselves in the foot and have almost begged to be outsourced. I'm actually looking forward to people that want to work. This will be an exciting time!!

Great to see the cowardice from ELT when it comes to an actual difficult conversation in not taking questions. I'm sure they'll have some softball questions ready for when they have the next announcement about this

Well, seems like network ops are the target for the cisco "teammates." Maybe some low level server stuff for accenture.

So the outsourcing and reduction of FTE’s continues. Nothing to see here, more will be coming before year end.

Dan's a West Point graduate. He's selling American's jobs for foreigners. That's a traitor in my book.

Accenture is the "Offshoring" efforts for CT&O, cut back departments and/or FTE's and replace with offshoring for half the cost. The next month or 2 will be finalizing details as well as introducing fully staffed 2nd and 3rd shift "not in the US".

TLDR: Just more layoffs inside CT&O

Could you decode this for those of us not in this area.
