Except half of your team can be in India, and it's fine, "they" are "collaborating" with each other, over there. I wish these companies just grew some ba--s and laid off as many people as they feel they need to without these stupid games. Lets face it. Generative AI is going to essentially wipe out the need for developers (coders). Prompt engineering solutions require a skillset that is not at the "coding" level. All of these jobs are in jeopardy - and yet we are hiring coders in these areas left and right.
It will be interesting to see how the economies of these countries fare when their development resources are replaced by Gen AI.

As a CPA, I'm more concerned about the IRS offshoring Tax Returns to India and Pakistan.
I have a client that received 2 ea. $18k tax refunds. At 5 years the statute of limitations ran out and should the U.S. want their money back, well - too bad, so sad.
They are hiring those positions, which were not needed in US for example PM role.

It’s far worse than most are aware. The control in biz billing is a written policy that offshore do not view sensitive restricted contracts such as Federal or State Gov without any method for monitoring for violations.
T doesn’t care. In the end, it’s all about the bottom line and where can the same work be done by the cheapest labor.

You would think so but not true. The outsourced this kind of thing to IBM in the past who then off shored it. Now AT&T is doing it directly.
Anything that connects to the fiber transport and switch network cannot and should not be offshored. These routers and switches that are used for monitoring and configuring the network are a security risk point and should be only accessed by trusted employees in the US. I believe national security rules prevent this. It would be like giving foreigners the password to our electrical grid.
