Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Just came here to remind you

That not a single one of you knows what is going on. This is a gossip and rumor mill site. Layoffs are to eliminate low performing and overpaid staff. If you perform you will get a location exception. Don't believe the of this crazy hype.

This is a inside troll posting... its literally just posted to spead disinformation and discredit any postings here that might shed light on the situration. OBVIOUSLY people who were laid off and post here know exactly what is happening because it happened to them... This post is a pitifuly attempt to remove the usefulness of this site.

Just not true. One of our highest performers was laid off last week. She was working in office but not a core location. She asked months ago to relocate on her own dime and was refused.

Same here. The center I work in will be 100% shut down. Like you said, just a matter of when. Isn't it like 3 or 4 being shut down? 😢

Says guy who complains about rumors then develops a rather shoddy one. My center is 100% being shut down and everyone displaced, regardless of performance. It’s only a matter of when.

There's been so many banking / financial crises over the years that I'm not sure "industry standards" is the best guide. Besides, there is always plenty of managers/executives playing that banking merry go round of employment. We pretty much always know what other banks are doing, and always have. Whether any individual policy or action has merit is the real question. In any event, thanks to Shart's extreme centralization of power, you'll be pleased to know that no long time employees are making any major decisions. It's all newbies in HY at this point. Here's your cardboard box to pack up your things.

Yeah, so many friends and good productive workers have been lost. If you haven't seen it, you probably don't know very many employees.

Dude you have no clue what you are saying. 40 people I know have been laid-off and had nothing to do with performance. STFU.

I’m a 35 year employee and have seen many high performers laid off in the last year!

By your definition? Things need to change so I’m not going to value a 35 year employee’s point of view over someone who has recently worked elsewhere and knows current industry standards.

2005 when WF was Elite. Love it. Question. What does one need to do to score a Ruby & Diamond, Gold stagecoach? I'd like to earn one before getting laid off. I've seen them on Ebay. Pricey but gorgeous.

@OP This is the worst post in a long while. You are full of BS.

  1. "That not a single one of you knows what is going on."

BS. We knew what was going on before we were laid off. Maybe that is why we were laid off first. So that only the ignorant survive. This will make future layoffs easier.

  1. "This is a gossip and rumor mill site."

BS. Most of the facts here are from the news and people'skjj experiences. If not true, like your post, they are downvoted. Most people try to be constructive here as well.

  1. "Layoffs are to eliminate low-performing and overpaid staff."

BS. This assumes Wells' managers know how to evaluate and pay employees. They are probably like you and only know how to use fear to motivate employees. Wells doesn't have know how to evaluate their employees -- that is why fear-monger facilitators, such as yourself, prevail at this bank.

  1. "If you perform you will get a location exception."

BS. The location seems to be almost random and capricious. Keep dangling the location exception carrot. Show what a sh...ty manager you are.

  1. "Don't believe this crazy hype." BS. Don't believe your crazy hype.
The fact that you have survived doesn't make you a high performer.

It’s called decades of nepotism. Leaders recruiting their buddies out of their third tier schools. It’s hard to do great things when most of your employees are intellectually challenged. it’s systemic. It’s not one thing..

There is no leadership, no direction, no strategic intent beyond vapid ambiguous platitudes. Nobody know what’s going on is an understatement, just to give OP some undeserved credit.

Sounds like a manager posted a comment. Yes, we can know what Wells Fargo is doing and some do repost those facts. A bank that has an asset cap, consent decrees and a growing union is not qualified to determine who is qualified or not. If you are an advisor, think of all the clients who refuse to do business with you because they don't trust wells fargo. Then, wonder why they question your business judgment. So, why sabotage your success?

OP - Take me to your leader.

Overpaid = outsource to India or Philippines.

Think about that. A 'too big to fail' bank, collecting US dollars, primarily from US tax paying citizens, is sending jobs out of the country. The leadership of this bank is using our own money to the detriment of US citizens. Please drink more koolaid you ignorant dunce.

They are letting go of employees that are considered an EXPENSE!

And for those asking why they would join WF - If brokers have a lot of clients then they get paid HUGE amounts of upfront money to join. And most of these guys have long term clients who will follow them wherever they go. They will work with their broker because they're good and it doesn't really matter to them what company their broker works for.

BRINGING IN INCOME (WHICH THEIR ROLE IS) IS VERY DIFFERENT FROM A ROLE WHERE YOU'RE CONSIDERED AN EXPENSE.

Pretty Transparent..
