Here’s the Math walk…
Nike has 80,000 Employees worldwide. 2% = 1600.
When you subtract the In House Manufacturing (Air bags), retail and warehouse, you are left with around 26,000 “corporate” jobs globally.
1600 of 26k = 6% reduction in corporate.
500 “exits” in round 1 back in February
1100 to go in round 2 (round 1,2 in Europe)
I’d speculate 450-500 (of the 11,400 = ~4%) at WHQ in Beaverton over the next week will be “exited”.
Should close some offices, starting with BATC (that’s JD excuse to fly down on the corporate jet to be with his family)
May the odds be in your favor my friend……
The non-APLA comment about them not being involved is not true. Our senior director confirmed they are starting today in AP because it’s honorable to do it in person, and disrespectful to do it over zoom, in their culture. (Arguably in our culture as well, but this is true fact)
This round does not include non HQ APLA, per her email Cathy said territory people would be working from the office next week implying that they will not be a part of these waves
Can you all stop being so selfish. Please think about how stressed poor Jon “the Con” Don must be. Imagine the sleepless nights wondering how he will spend his 20 million dollar salary irrespective of what happens to us mere mortals. The stress of wondering what yacht to buy must be unbearable. Poor guy!!
Let’s not forget that the 2% included GC, the non-WHQ based APLA folks, AND EMEA.
We know the TOTAL is around 1600. The 480 number somebody else said here is believed to be accurate.
That’s 1120 remaining, and the word is they plan on completing all WHQ-based exits on Monday.
Think about how long it took to take care of the 480 in the last round. There’s absolutely no way they could do anywhere close to that many in a single day at WHQ.
GC and EMEA will also have two rounds.
GC 1: ~150
GC 2: ~150
EMEA 1: ~200
EMEA 2: ~150
Non-WHQ APLA: ~150
That leaves 320 remaining at WHQ.
TPMs never have right data.
My guy throwing out number trying to rattle people 😂
Nike said in Feb the total would be 2% of workforce. That is roughly 1500 - 1600. Don't know how many were unfortunately impacted in phase 1. If we knew then we could do the math. If Nike is going to layoff a materially higher number than 2% then they would be obligated to announce that.
Silly, that’s how many pounds of flesh it’s costing our ELT this time. Won’t someone think of how layoffs impact them?!
It will be over a 1000 including EMEA, EMEA isn’t that big so this will be worse for WHQ than the last go round. When you consider the fact that they are combining all the product orgs the large number starts to make sense. Best of luck to everyone!!!!
Looks like some reports of 1,100 in this phase
Neither of those numbers is even remotely accurate…
OP. If you are for real….wow, I feel sorry for you. If you are a troll, please don’t. There are real impacts on real people. People with kids and other responsibilities dependent on having a job. Be a normal person; stop feeding gross misinformation into this environment.
BS…
480 in ohase 1, meaning about 900 in phase 2
Complete nonsense
There were 480 in Phase 1.
