In IA, there has been no mention that I've heard of about RIFs or furloughs. I suspect that something bigger is in the works. Maybe a sell of something significant? Maybe Intelligrated? I certainly hope so. Anything to get out from under Honeywell would be a good thing.

Does not sound like HON, normally on Thursday w/ an emergency meeting before that

Furlough SV. He needs to innovate some tech around BO and how to keep a shirt tucked in during board meetings. Sloppiest tech leader ever!

If we don't see an email by memorial Day, then furloughs. They're probably not going to happen.

They'll wait until the last second. If they're really using this as a tool to meet quarterly results. Then they're lying about the numbers.

Kool-Aid people believe anything they are told. I'm planning for some type of exit strategy. Either by my choice or there's. Stay tuned as the stomach turns. We could be a soap opera.

lol in the words of Lee corso, not so fast my friend! I can’t elaborate too much without doxxing myself. Bottom line is we missed on everything important. Theres a possibility corporate can shuffle some money around and make it look better, but I expect a revision in guidance from the big dogs in Charlotte. Shareholders pi---d etc….
I’ll tell you this, and it’s not a surprise, but we have a bunch of clowns in leadership positions and especially in finance. Just an absolute circus each and every month and quarter. No semblance of process or organization. Numbers change depending on who you talk to. Lack of discipline up and down the org. I wouldn’t trust some of these clowns to run a cash register much less financial reporting.

Agree, I was fully expecting this years furloughs for Q3 or Q4. They are just a revenue manipulation tool as you say..... . and god knows VK will be using every trick in the book to get his bonus whilst he still can.

The timing is a bit suspicious. Normally we’d see this a bit later, but earnings are this week and it’s likely to be ugly. It’s possible there’s some financial engineering that can be done, but it’s a bloodbath in BA.
I’d expect it closer to end of May or June, but who knows. Bottom line: this su-ks

@3zyi+1s6bMW1Y You could be right but it is super strange, he has been obsessively down voting any critical comment on every single thread for literally a few months now.
He also repeatedly comments on how Honeywell is a great company whilst disparaging everyone else on here. The manner is which he comments is almost child like.
It is so bizarre, who would invest that much energy unless they are paid (god knows why) or completely mentally unstable.

Is a paid shill who makes his money by making silly nonsense rebuttals to negative reviews. I wonder who he really works for?

@3nav+1s6bMW1Y If you were so happy at Honeywell why on earth would you stalk this board like you do. You must clearly realize the high risk of layoff, furlough, benefit reduction, senseless cost containment, lack of investment and declining professional operations or why else would you be checking here daily.
I can only guess you are either very green or not in a technical / professional position.
That can be the only answer as anyone with caliber knows that Honeywell has sunk to the bottom of the engineering industry and seen horrific decline in the last 6-10 years.

I did quit the company. Honestly I left with enough trauma that I still find myself angry and seeking council and people who experienced the same things. Sorry but Honeywell encourages an abusive culture while giving lip service to whatever the current media zeitgeist might be for the day.

@3nav+1s6bMW1Y Relating our negative experiences is not the same as bashing. It is simply sharing the truth, which at HW has become increasing negative and biased against employees and customers alike. If someone has fabricated a rumor, shame on them, but the majority of us are just off-gassing the stress we feel daily working for a company that, by its actions, views its employees as inconvenient and expendable bags of skin. And clearly by your take on this, you are part of the problem.

You folks are always bashing Honeywell, quit the company if you disagree with them instead of spreading your obnoxious rumors. Are most of you over the hill as "Boomers" and are afraid for another challenge post Honeywell? Honeywell is a good company but you complainers are not good employees, you are all pathetic babies!

If they do give out an email, they’ll do it just before memorial day.

My prediction is it will come Friday 24th, 2024. They’ll get the whole day work from you.
You’ll get the email at 1:45 PM. Give us some time to give you the details. Then they don’t have to pay holiday pay.

Maybe, they’ll do it every holiday. Like when I first started. This was the year they get rid of most of the engineers.

They’re getting our plant ready to relocate or sell my plant. So I don’t think the technicians will be laid off. They are going to train in our replacements with the help of the engineers.
After they’re done using them, they’ll get rid of them.

This is just an opinion. What I’m seeing around here. Suggestions this could be the scenario shaping up for us. Corporate game us $50 million to fix up the building and the grounds.

They claim it’s an asset enhancement. This is happening to me before so this is why I have this opinion. Heck they’re even painting the whole building.

It use to be a free turkey for thanksgiving or a decent amount of money for a bravo, now it is a slap on the back and great job you get furlough and oh by the way your a block 5. Think you did great this year and you should be a one or a two but I have to put you as a five to hit a metric. Why 90,000 people still choose to work hear is beyond me and as for the share holders I would avoid this stock as the only thing that is holding it up is the military and geo engineering contracts.

Furloughs are a period of time, usually one week or two weeks separated by a week of work in between, where you are not allowed to come to work, touch your company equipment (computers, phones, etc.), cannot do work or talk work to anyone, and you don't get paid. It's a great time to schedule an impromptu vacation or get stuff done around the house that you don't have time to do because you're always working, communicating with team members in distant time zones, or worrying about work.

In previous years we had staggered furloughs...half of the SBG had furlough one week and half the other. Then it repeated. I literally lost a whole month of progress on certain deliverables by not being able to communicate with key players who were on the opposite furlough week. Well thought out, SLT.

Some people consider the de facto pay cut to be worth it for the free time; others find it devastating because they live so close to the bone already. I don't know what would happen if you had to contact HR (write down their phone number) because you or someone on your health insurance had an issue during your time off, but in your next paycheck they will charge you double for insurance because you ARE covered during that time though you didn't get a paycheck.

Furloughs are awesome! You can have a week off, but since you have no money you can’t go anywhere! Bora Bora is out of the question. Maybe you can stop by the Tucson McDonald’s instead and have a McFlurry with VK and GL

Furloughs are a relatively new tool in the fake revenue generating tool box. You stay away from work, your lousy worst in class, in fact the worst that people ever saw and many experts say its the worst in the industry benefits continue. Unemployment pay varies by state. You may want to check your state rules.

Come on, this is the most important quarter in Honeywell history.

Why so many likes on the original thread? Furloughs cut very deep into most of our budgets - all while experiencing out of control inflation. This is nothing to be celebrated.

How they fix the books. They got to get their quarterly results. In order to do that, RIFs and furloughs.

You're glad to be taking a furlough or an RIF. You agree with everything they say anyway. This is all you got promoted. What do you guys say all the time. You and your propaganda and rumors. You're a future shaper.

I'm surprised furloughs didn't happen in either Q4 2023 or Q1 2024. It was just a matter of time. If this is true, I believe it will be the 7th furlough week I've had in the 4.5 years I've worked at HW

@1ihp+1s6bMW1Y Standard practice here I am afraid, they come hand in hand.
I know people that had their furlough cancelled a day before so they could get riffed.
This was a couple of weeks after an already huge RIF.
