Thread regarding Nike Inc. layoffs

2 different invites - don’t panic!

Our leadership confirmed that there will be two types of invites sent out from SD/VP; it would be either to let you know that you’re leaving or continuing. Don’t panic if you see one on your calendar; it may not be that you’ve been laid off.
They didn’t say much on how it can be distinguished from the invite, regarding what it is.

@ikf - What data points will a VP find for an Analyst four levels down to make that decision ?

Unless they change the rules of engagement, VP make the exit calls. My Senior Director (SD), didn't know anything 4 years ago until the Monday morning of the riff

My question is, who will be the first to launch a law suit against Nike for cruelty and mistreatment of employees.

Our VP has confirmed that everyone is getting an invite, whether to hear they’ve been laid off, their role is changing, or they’re not impacted. I agree with the OP and this is absolutely not BS. Even gave us info on who we should expect to hear from and said this is all public (Nike) knowledge.

Well obviously the subject line will say "Congratulations on your termination." That's how you can tell.

Timing has nothing to do with it [all invites must be sent by 8:30am]. Either you get an invite that says your laid off, getting a promotion, or offered to take a demotion or severence.

If you receive a pair of airmax DN’s, you are allowed to stay. Those who do not, will be asked to leave the Berm. Tune in next week for the season finale.

@nty it is true. That's precisely how phase 1 unfolded.

This would be a logistical nightmare. Sorry friend but I’m calling BS.

What serious business leader says, I think we should make 100% of the people impacted emotionally for a minor percent who will actually need to leave?

This leadership will never regain trust from this move. This is a death spiral that will simply train people to hate them.

The consensus is that the exits will all be done on Monday.

The rest of the week will be new roles or staying in place.

That’s how phase 1 worked … everyone got an invite. If your invite is before noon, most likely bad news.

Evil mother f-cers they know what they are doing. Nobody is d-mb enough to think this is a good idea, to panic everyone without some anterior motive. These sick f-cs are hoping for some Stockholm syndrome effect on those that stay. Look we saved you now pledge your loyalty to us. Unreal
