Thread regarding SAP layoffs

The majority of it is done

I think we can relax now. I know what the email said, but it seems to me that most of it has been done already and what's left will probably be for people who are on vacation/sick leave/whatever and couldn't be notified today. Am I too optimistic to think this is true?

I know of a team of 16 software engineers including the manager got served. Reason that was shared, moving jobs to low cost country.

Germans carry out layoffs like they carry out wars. Defeat is inevitable, but the route there is long, painful and stupid.

Can 100% confirm this is not true. Our group has a meeting scheduled for those at risk (me included!) and other meetings are being scheduled for the coming weeks. CK's email from yesterday said it's continuing to Jan 2025 in some regions. Scaremongering is never good but it's important to be grounded and realistic.

I can confirm that this is absolutely wrong. I was just notified that I'm on the chopping block.

There were no indicators prior to the meeting invite from manager and HR.
