When FHE made the original cuts/shifts in March of 23, our school decided to not renew and went to self op. Got rid of books, just GM. Sales up 50K in 6 months and turned a profit in 3. FHE problem is (amongst 1000 other things) nobody knows better than them. Boy are they in for a surprise when they find out nobody needs them! #IndependentStoresAreBetter

Think about the associates that busted their butts for decades.
Anyone working for Follett that thinks their hard work and dedication will get them appreciation or recognition is a fool. Your boss will take the credit and you will be riffed to add profit to JRC.

JRC values are maximum profits for their rich investors.
YOU are a controllable expense that comes out of their profits.
They value how much work they can get out of you for the least amount of money.
When you walk in to work remember that it's just a job and not a very good job.
If they calculate they can do without you, you'll be gone in a heartbeat and they will high five each other for their brilliant management!
Here's the answer. Bet on yourself. Your next job might not pay more but what you lose in pay you can gain in peace of mind. Your hard work will be valued and your dedication will be rewarded. You're not defective the company you work for is. This is not normal.

There's no commentary from anywhere. The RM in our region is unusually quiet...no emails, nothing.
Kinda makes you wonder if there's anything else afoot.

60 Market Leaders got fired as well as some FT people, not clear on those #s. I personally know of at least one RM gone this week and 4 MLs. Remaining MLs are getting their stores realigned or getting more stores added to their market, just like what happened to CM3s and OTC employees last month. Don't ever get comfortable. None of us are ever safe here.

Market Managers are store level positions, they renamed them last year.
I’m glad I didn’t come back. You guys don’t think they’re gonna keep this business, right? They’re an investment company. They’re just looking to make a profit before they sell the company. Sadly, all jobs are like this in our disposable world.
Did ya'll really think you were safe? Literally one year ago they fired 300+ people for
"reorganization". Pray your schools cancel contracts and run for the hills.
Nobody has job security in retail. It’s always about the state of the business. They don’t care about loyalty or how hard we work. All any of us can do is take care of ourselves. Hopefully those of us that have been let go have relationships with their campus that they can network within.
