I’ve heard rumblings of this for awhile and usually ignore it. But heard from 3 different people today that the announcement is coming out Wednesday that beginning in October we will be required to be in the office 4 days a week. Anyone else hearing this? (I hope I’m wrong and it’s just a rumor)

And to think not only badge access will be monitored- managers will get ‘other data monitoring’. Wow - just wow.

If the bank was transparent and said "we need to fill these buildings to X% or we lose existing tax breaks and then have to do a rif" people would at least respect the honesty. These wfh years have been the best and most productive of my professional life. Aside from the commute, I especially do not miss being forced to ignore literally 3-4 hours a day of church gossip, car, grill, rv, vacation, anything bs that people would go on and on about instead of doing their very, very easy jobs. You all saw it too I'm sure, people just walking around taking smoke breaks, shooting the breeze, kissing the correct cheeks, and collecting checks. This idea of someone outside of their expertise helping someone else with a technical or creative and monetary issue or whatever make believe, pie in the sky bull pucky they think happens in the office is just a joke.
Since they cannot give decent raises, WFH is a fantastic benefit that could be offered that costs the bank nothing. Seems that their “purpose” is to keep morale down and have their employees waste time and gas money.
I go in but do not strictly follow the requirement. One reason is when I have too much work I want to put in extra time to get it done for the good of the company.
The leader of my team got exempt for a BS reason but expects their team to go in. Strong leadership from them and their boss as well for allowing it.
This is for the on site folks, they’re going to start enforcing things

I’ll do what we’re told as a manager as long as it’s fair and consistent. But I don’t want to penalize anyone on my team for lack of in office attendance when there’s so much inconsistency with who’s on telecommute.
We don’t even cover the hybrid teammates parking or give them an assigned desk for goodness sakes. Also, my most productive teammates are likely my least likely to meet the 3 day expectation.
Many of the Truist offices don’t have badges or keycodes. Just a key to a door. How does Truist track those teammates? I guess you could check to see if they are logged in through the VPN but some offices probably require teammates to log in through the VPN?

This is new? I thought this came out last year when they created the policy around work designations. You had remote (was supposed to be rare), hybrid (defined as 3/week in office…CCB said 4), and on-site. Everyone was designated one of these three and were supposed to start going in.
So are you hearing they are changing how we define hybrid from 3 days to 4? Or are you hearing they are actually going to start enforcing it?

I'd happily comply if it meant I could be in the office with fellow teammates. But to sit there with all my teammates in different offices so you are around a bunch of transient strangers and still need to meet online is so darn stupid.

when it was 3 days (which i complied with, but still get let go, fun times) the manager of our department said he didn't care if we came in or not. not that he could save us if something happened, but he flat out said he didn't care. and as easy as it is to get an exception (i know several who did) if you really don't want to go back you don't have to.
Just stop whining and do your freaking job.

When I worked in CCB David weaver had already required 4 days in despite policy still being 3 in. Wouldn’t surprise me.

If that's true at least they are giving plenty of notice this time and it's not right before summer.
