2024 Olympic Launch Failure?

Did anyone hear about the launch of the Olympic product in Paris this week? Neither did I until I saw the product being bashed online!

With the second round of layoffs looming, the brand just spent millions of dollars on an event in Paris that ultimately had no purpose and no return of investment. Is that the best use of money when the company is in the process of eliminating thousands of jobs to help with financial troubles?

All those pervs and judgey people out there who want to guide what a female athelete should or should not wear, why dont you just leave it to her given they have a choice among 3 designs?

Yikes the women’s track and field kit is embarrassing. What athlete wants to worry about having their cooch out while competing? 😂😂

It is one option in a whole line of uniforms. Marketing let the story get away from them and now the brand is paying for it. The picture that went viral hasn’t even been published by Nike externally. For some reason Nike thinks they can still do an activation somewhere without pushing the full story wide at the same time. Big failure of internal teams.

The product is great. The marketing is embarrassing. Complete failure.

Jon the probably the most innovative and best product Nike has produced in last few years. Servant leader, talks about accountability….displays none. Blames his employees and has no guts to take hard decisions for his ELT.

Not able to attract a well reputed CTO, didn’t fire AC for the debacle that was RAT and SEC.

What a mo--n.

Yeah, you can definitely chalk it up as a failure. Launch was barely even mentioned on social. Product was really unremarkable. Someone thought that showing futuristic footwear prototypes would make some noise, but in a world of daily AI renders and no real world practical applications, it fell flat.

Yes, and I dig the product. Lots of issues, starting at the top, but the product is nice.
