Losing a job at Nike used to be something to fear because you'd lose great pay, amazing benefits, a chance to make your way up the ladder, and a position in a respected company that meant something on your resume if you decided to leave on your own. Not one of those things is true anymore. Now we lose a subpar job with subpar pay and benefits in a subpar company that's more embroiled in controversies than anything else. It simply doesn't have the same impact.
