Thread regarding Enbridge Inc. layoffs

This company is in trouble

The employees are now viewed as a commodity rather than a source of value. The arrogance that is present in the senior leadership team is sickening. 88 vps and your answer is to lay off front-line workers? Give me a break. True leadership would take the first hit in any manpower reduction situation. Alas, this isn't the situation here at present. The 20 or so people at the top are going to find out that they aren't smarter than the 15,00 working for them. She's a ship heading down fast.

Perfectly said, @qux+1ri95PMx.

I worked there for many years, and it was a good company. But the new leadership has proven to not have much field experience and is pi----g this company down their legs. VPs would come out to the field to touch base with people, and they would pretend to listen to you by repeating yep over and over; but not actually take but a smidgen of what was discussed seriously. You would get talked down to, like you didn’t know what was happening and you weren’t out there every day. It might not have sounded good to them at their 40,000 feet above the pipeline, but to us that were on the ground it was a big deal. They would always have brand new boots still in the box without a scuff on them, proving that they didn’t get out to the field much, if at all. But wanted to make important decisions that would change the direction of the pipeline or the company for what they believe is the better. They didn’t really care, they were actually just checking a box on their goals that they had to meet for their stip.

The assessment is right on the mark. Rather than trying to create an environment where all can contribute they have chosen to isolate control at the evp level. It’s old school thinking. Hard to imagine it changing without the board of directors getting involved which probably won’t happen until the wheels really come off.

Employees have been viewed as numbers for some time now. They will continue to cull the herd every couple years or as they see fit.
Don't fall for touchy feely sentiments about employees being a 'family' or 'all in thus together ' because it's a falsehood.

Wait for it …..the new reorganized chart on March 15.
Watch there will be NO change in executive or the number of all variants of VP’s and directors.
And who is responsible for the share prices?
