We had a meeting with our manager yesterday and were told in no uncertain terms that Sapience is being used to weed out employees who are not typing on their computer for a minimum of 8 hours a day. Every time you go to the restroom, get coffee, or talk to a colleague in the name of "collaboration", it is shown as non-productive time. The new Sapience micromanages everyone....going to z-scaler for 5 seconds...really? So unless you are glued to your chair and keyboard for 8 hours a day, there is no way that you will make the requirements without working longer hours. My opinion is that this is borderline illegal for exempt employees. Morale is at an all-time low, knowledgeable employees are looking elsewhere. Great job FB!

I quit without giving 2 weeks notice 3 days after they installed this garbage on my laptop.
I’m now working at a normal company, WFH, and I’m judged on whether my work gets done or not. Not some BS keystroke count.
I really hope Fiserv burns to the ground for this terrible decision.
It's coming to everyone in the u.s. just announced.
We were just told 4 days at least 7 hours a day in office and 7 hours active Sapience
There is no common sense. We were told the main reason for the RTO hoopla was so we can collaborate better (like talking in the break room might lead to a cure for cancer). Now enter the new sapience….every time you move away from your computer to “collaborate” with someone you lose time from Sapience. It is unaccounted time. So now I guess to collaborate with someone 2 seats back, you need to do it via teams. And as we all know teams works equally as well from home as it does to collaborate with colleagues in other states or countries.
Wish they would offer pkgs… many would sign up
You're mistaken if you think Sapience is the only tool used to monitor your work life. We use the parking garage. We badge in/out of the office. We login to our computers - then Sapience follows us around. I was provided some quick and dirty common-sense items: 1. Don't sit at your desk and watch youtube or surf the web all day. 2. Try to clock 6hrs+ per day in Sapience. 3. Work and close cases. - That's it. Let's face it, we're RTO now and the motto is put in a day's work for a day's pay. If you're working and not goofing off, you should be OK. Managers don't typically hound after top performers. Try to remember that work is a dynamic place, and things change weekly around here. Try to go with the flow and work it a day at a time. It might su-k today but tomorrow can be different. I've seen plenty of ups and downs around here. Good Luck!
Our groups have not heard any of this let alone 14 hours a day. Sounds like an over zealous manager fear mongering or complete BS. Unfortunately there are good and bad divisions in fiserv. Some much worse than others.
We had our Sapience and badge swipe discussion. It wasn’t pretty. Why are we in such a hostile work environment? We don’t have a CEO, we have a dictator. So FB continues to spout 4 day weeks, his JPMC minions are beating people ip about 5 days.
Leaf is sapience
Sapience is gone. It's now LEAF. Sapience was easy to beat LEAF is not
Typing pools were phased out in the late 1970s. Those were the only people I know of who would type ALMOST 8 hours a day. They had mandatory breaks and lunches. The work did not require creative thought or research. The person providing the letters or documents provided all the necessary information.
Research requires time to read, digest, and creatively implement changes to systems. Code doesn't flow from developers finger tips like water.
We are not at the point where people are automatons. Wake up leadership.

"My manager brought my entire team together and said it was 14 hours a day in Sapience, that bank businesses were all being sold, that the management team was under SEC investigation, the stock price was going to crater this week (for the last 3 years), that only employees related to Frank would be getting raises, etc etc etc.
Maybe stick to real stuff about layoffs instead of this made up fantasy bs"
This page became a long time ago all that is wrong with FIserv on a daily basis. It gets to FB, and that is why he even mentioned "the website" in his quarterly call where he said we were spoiled and compared us to workers at McDonalds. Maybe we can have a page set up such as "FiservSux" or something like that. Anyone volunteer to start one? Apparently this gets under Frank's skin.

Can you imagine them standing there in court having to go through the details of what Sapience does & doesn't track when they get sued in a discriminatory termination case? There is a reason companies have paid severance out - it is not because they care about the employee. It so they get you to sign off that you won't sue them!
In my opinion things will only get worst. I know the job market is tight right now. If your less than 5 years away from retiring and can somehow manage to deal with the BS, then stay till you retire or they force you out and get severance. Otherwise take the opportunity to improve your skill set and explore what the future job opportunities are outside of Fiserv. This is not the old Fiserv where they cared about their employees, we're just a number under this new company that I don't recognize after being here over 20 years.
When it comes down to it, you have to do what us best for you and your family, which I consider to be most important.
This is another example of why I got out on my terms.
Thanks Frank, Tony, etc for your insight. The only anchors in this company is upper management
This Sapience is new. They created development teams to implement it and a data analytics team to monitor it. It shows you anything that you did for mere seconds. Totally unlike the original one pre Covid and during Covid.
It was bought up about it folks that need to think. But we aren’t being paid to think anymore. This is why we are a dumpster fire. Let’s just type, doesn’t matter if things are right or not. Most tenured knowledgeable people I know are looking for jobs on the outside. This is big brother at its worst.
Good at what it does? If only our leadership could mirror that. Lofl.
We had Sapience before covid 19 at Fiserv. Sapience is not new to Fiserv.
"Sapience is very good at what it does."
ROFL... thanks for the laugh!
Getting worse every week!
Sapience is very good at what it does. You need to get over it and do your job!!!! We are done anchor-weight in our company. Now, less whining and more work.
What about sales folks on the road? I mainly have to use my phone to work when on the road.
They’ll be weeding out everyone because no one can type 8 hours without let up.
I wonder if they will bother bringing it up to the people who are already on their final countdown. Guess I'll find out soon.
We were told the same thing last week about Sapience. Interesting that I was more productive at home and now it's dropping being in the office from all the "collaboration".
As a rule, I’d be wary of software developers who type all day without stopping to think.
If true, this makes old IBM look generous by comparison. (I worked for both firms in my career). In 1992 nobody in sales was generating anything near quota for Big Blue and the sales reps were admonished by the infamous water cooler memo that later cost John Akers the role of CEO. So management said that all field sales agents had to spend a day each week filling out forms why they were not spending 5 days in the field. A total mess. So I can well see Fiserv being d-mber than old Armonk these days. Get out NOW!
Wait til you have the badge swipe timing conversation
