It sounds like you regret some of your life decisions.

You may have chosen a career/degree that cannot earn enough.
You may live in a location that is too expensive for your earnings.

Let me guess your situation possibilities.
You make $$$$ so you can afford the extras to make your extra time available.
Your married but your spouse does everything for you.
Your spouse works but WFH so they do everything.
It's easier to work than deal with the kids and home responsibilities so your pro office.
You're alone, miserable and dedicated to work to sidetrack your personal issues.
You're miserable and misery around you boost your endorphins.
So much more I could say here but trying to be polite.

The worst is coming to the office and having b2b meetings on zoom. The office isn't set up for that kind of noise. It sounds like a call center in my dept. no exaggeration.

You are the very reason we are in this RTO mess. Our team’s productivity was sky high before RTO.This mandate has only incentivized people to completely shut down after hours. Way to punish everyone else because daddy needs a social escape away from his old lady and cr---h goblins by going to the office to flirt with his admin.

Lmao this is the terminal dinosaur sh-t I'm talking about on display: @kcd completely glosses over the fact that people en masse are finding everything about RTO from the proposition to the accommodations unacceptable (I know this was tough, but wink wink hence morale in the toilet) then for some wild reason jumps to bash an age group as if theres a generational boundary? Ad hom is a tale as old as time for people with a closed mind.

Remember when I asked for one productive reason we should be doing RTO inc wide? Still waiting. Let us know and then you can ride your horse and buggy off into the sunset.

Had an All Hands yesterday and our leader addressed this rumor. We’re not going back in 5 days a week. It’s 4:1 and that’s not changing, anyone saying otherwise is just stirring sh-t at this point.

Where the f do you 5 day advocates crawl out from? It's like we don't even work at the same company. Do you really want to work with miserable people, burning up your wages, to sit in a noisy distraction prone playplace? To attend zoom calls?

My teams are measurably less productive, less happy, and less available as flexibility decreases. These are huge problems in a globalized company where innovation is at our core. There is no quantifiable argument from a PRODUCTIVITY angle to say RTO is good for the company. Some teams? Maybe. The company? He-l no. Give one good reason that isn't crushed under the weight of the drawbacks.

There are a few very dedicated people I know who want RTO but mostly I see these advocates as the terminally useless dinosaurs and/or those who waste time more than others, needing a cause to internalize that as being acceptable. Deadweight is the same in office or at home, the setting changes nothing. Want to hit the gym for 3 hours and then take 3 coffee breaks? Go nuts, I see you every day on campus, but stop dragging us down with you because someone needs to keep the lights on.

I grew up working a farm actually, literally. I have no aversion to hard work, but I also don't think that in office is required for many od these roles. Especially when competitors are offering remote work, and your talent pool jumps ship for better treatment.

If you're advocating for everyone to be in office, at least have data to back it up. Wanting it just because its "the norm" or "how my daddy used to do it" isn't a valid justification. That just makes you stubborn.

That reeks of outdating thinking. This is why Nike is stuck in its old ways with people trying to manage an organization with the same thinking that may have worked 30 years ago. We're in a new age with new systems and employees who have new ways of working and you're trying to fit them into outdated processes. Basically wasting talent by stifling them in sh---y open office environments.

The old norm was highly unproductive for the current demographic of the modern worker for most roles. We are a global company with increasing digital footprint. Dependency on physical location isn’t what it once was.

Norms change.
Dinosaurs inevitably go extinct.
