Survivor's guilt

Is anybody else feeling like cr-p to still be here while so many good people are gone - some of who are my good friends - even though I know objectively that none of it is my doing in any way? Honestly, I know it's a strong term, but survivor's guilt is the only way I can describe what I'm feeling.

It makes sense what you’re feeling. They are real emotions, and I get it, particularly if you knew people that lost their jobs and respected them. Just acknowledge the feelings, know it certainly wasn’t any fault of yours, and move past those feeling knowing that your friends will be fine and are in control of what’s next for them. If they are friends, be there for them to listen and lift them up if they need it until they find the next thing. All we can do is control what we can, do good work, try to keep yourself in a role that will continue to be relevant, take care of personal finances if it happens, and try not to worry about it. But don’t let the survivors guilt get you down; acknowledge it and move past it, and be a friend to those impacted.

There are some people I like who were laid off. I feel sorry for them. I also know one incompetent manager who has been laid off. That manager should have been let go several years ago.

Move on people, Enb is not the only company that ever laid off people.

I used to feel the same until the day my name was called. You then realize who your friends are and you come to the sad realization that not many are after you're gone.

A dream job in corporate America does not last long these days. If you are paid 300K/year, say...

Move on and get on with it!. not the 1st layoff wouldn’t be the last. One day ur number will be up!

I had some people who quit and got other jobs sometime in January and February and they are happier for it. They didn’t wait to get there bonus.
