Thread regarding Enbridge Inc. layoffs

LFJ not looking good

I was laid off in the latest round. Maybe it’s too early to panic, but I have a hard time finding a new job. I started looking some time before layoffs, as I feared losing a job and having nothing in a bag. My fears were realized, also no luck with job hunting. Sent many applications, have had a couple of interviews, offers are below what I earned at Enbridge. I am not super picky, better to do something than nothing. But still, it’s not looking good. How about you, guys?

You’ll be fine, a lot of people who got laid off and people who left on their own were able to find a job.

Some found jobs faster than the others, some found them in a different city but you’ll be fine. Take it one day at a time. Get your resume professionally done if you’re not confident with it. Write up a really good cover letter that matches the job postings or how you’re going to bridge the gap between the posting versus your experience and skills. Refresh/get updated some of your skills while you’re applying.

Yes it will feel like you’re starting all over again but change is good and this might be the change you needed. Enbridge is not the only company in the planet.

Depends on what you're looking for. I was laid off a few years ago and there was a feeling of panic at first since it seemed there wasn't much out there and it didn't pay as well. I was patient and eventually found another job that paid the same as what I was making, but I had to start at the bottom as far as vacation time went. I figure it was a small price to pay.
