Thread regarding Enbridge Inc. layoffs

How layoff is impacting your innovating mindset?

I was not affected from recent layoff but I've decided to leave Enbridge for a better opportunity. The months leading up to this layoff, was impacting my mental health to an extent it impaired my well being as an individual.
I almost lost the mindset to think about innovation, efficiency. My productivity just fell off the cliff. I wonder if others have experienced the same dilemma ?
I am trying my best to shake off the negativity before I move to my new role. If you have any advice on that I would appreciate that very much.

Enbridge damages are severe on the mental health.
More and more will leave as time passes.
The anguish of the situation continues and will never end

I think what makes it feel worse is that it’s not just you, it’s your entire family that you support that are at risk.

Knowing that you have no ability to control something that could have such a substantial impact to your family, makes a person feel hopeless. Especially knowing that often the layoffs are arbitrary and not performance based anyone is in the crosshairs.

Spreading mass layoffs over multiple quarters and giving an extended month long notice has a detrimental impact on the employee base across the board. People do not do good work when they are afraid and paranoid.

Your feelings and emotions are so understandable. Waiting and anticipating a layoff is traumatizing. Glad you are moving on on your own accord, and hope the very best for you.

I understand completely what you’re saying. Unfortunately I have no advice, as I struggle with similar emotions.
