Thread regarding Truist Bank layoffs

Happy with a new job

I was laid off relatively recently after years of dedicated work. I was initially very disappointed and angry. Then I found a new job, where I am so much more appreciated, better paid, and actually derive professional satisfaction from. It was only after some time working at a new place that I realized how unhappy, stressed, tired, scared and overall damaged I had been while working in Truist. Don’t worry about being laid off, and don’t be afraid to look for other opportunities starting now. That place doesn’t deserve you.

Agreed. Just accepted a new role with a 45% increase in base salary. Thank Bill and Co for cutting me loose. Severance hit today too! Hope everyone (well most) find a new and better role.

Same here. Got laid off after a decade in November due to Project SunTrustARises. Had a better job making more money lined up within a week. Wish I had left when the merger was announced.

But it worked out for the best. I got to double dip on a paycheck and got paid on a ton of vacation that my hSTI boss would never have let me take before the end of the year.

Kelly was right. Your best days are ahead of you, as long as your days aren’t spent at SunTruist.
