Thread regarding Nike Inc. layoffs

So happy to still be here!

Like many of you I was worried to the point of seeing a therapist because of mental breakdowns and physical agony. But now that I see I haven't been laid off, it shows that those loyal to the Swoosh and those who keep the faith are rewarded. The ones let go were bad people or unworthy anyway. If you are still here like me, count your lucky stars, you are among the elite who have been chosen to continue working at a place most can only dream of. As long as you believe and loyal to the Swoosh, you will not be punished with excommunication. Prove your dedication and show your appreciation to be here everyday, the faithful and pure will be protected.

Congratulations to those of you who did not get the tongue-in-cheek nature of the post.

If you are evidence of intelligent life, it's damning.

Lmao if OP is the kind of person left, I’m so so glad I’m out. That’s some dystopian Orwell type sh*t right there. No thank you.

I up-voted the sarcasm. I'm surprised many did not get that tone from the obvious parody.

On the other hand, there hasn't been much to cheer about at Nike lately, so clearly people are not in the mood for jokes. Many lives of good people were uprooted this week who didn't deserve this.

Kool aid drinker veterans with 20 years were let go. Very smart people. Companies don’t have loyalty.

So NOT true. I know of a particular individual who gave over 20 plus years of "loyal" service to the brand and was let go. They didn't just clear out the chaff - they let go of some gems.
