So many IT problems. Unacceptable for a multi billion dollar company.

This is what happens when you slash the budget to an inadequate amount, and let good people go. Some of these good people are brilliant and kept the junk systems going. Others weren’t brilliant but did a great job by hard work and dedication. These brilliant people are better off, but this leaves our systems very vulnerable.
I was talking with an IT guy some years back and he suggested that the IT problem was associated with offshore contract workers. While these contractors did the work they were not in the role long enough to be around when things went wrong. This then required new contractors to disassemble the work and recreate it.
Being a US resident from another English speaking country I am aware that the differences in the English language can create misunderstandings. I would assume that Computer Language is the same.
I find it surprising IT is blamed as most IT teams are underbudget, overstretched and doing the best we can. Everyone in these forums can take ownership of the problems at Humana, this is not just a leader, IT, CS, or problem. Finger pointing does not help and I am noticing these forums are becoming a dumping ground to air grievances. I can not speak to all IT associates, but blanket statements are not productive. We would love to modernize and upgrade our platforms but those budgets were slashed to prevent more RIFs and support new revenue generating priorities. Just "Upgrade your software" or "Upgrade your platforms" is grossly overly simplifying the situation. Most IT associates are expected to work all hours of the day/night/weekends to support your ability to work and we do the best we can with what we have. We are put into impossible situations with very high expectation and bound by many overly restrictive processes. The entire job is a high stress environment every day to help "support the business".
IT has su-ked for a long time. not because of the IT folks but because of the sh---y software they keep using. Salesforce was gonna be fantastic, but they tried to use the cheap version and ran into trouble. bailed out instead of getting more expensive package that would have worked. Was awful going from salesforce back to the antiquated cr-ppy hcat and cgx
Yup. It’s like 2 hrs so far of me not being able to work, yet I need to be more efficient….? How about upgrade your platforms and get with the times. Sorry I’m salty today.
