Thread regarding Truist Bank layoffs

No hiring

It's been almost a year since we lost two team members, and we're still holding our breath for their replacements. Meanwhile, we're juggling all the tasks as we wait for the miracle to happen. This looks more and more like a sneaky tactic to pile on more work without a pay bump. I'm starting to feel that promises of reinforcements will never materialize.

Local bank branch is swamped! They promoted a well-deserved bank manager, but neglected to do one very important thing: hire a new one to take their place. Customers are very upset because there are not enough people to help. Employees are very upset because they are swamped due to no bank manager and people are too comfortable staying at home on the government dole than working. One other reason is that so many of the 38 and under crowd can’t think logically and without someone telling them what they should think. Not a good match for a bank job.

It started in 2020 and picked up speed quickly. Not only does it save them a ton of money not hiring and dumping on the rest of us, when you get burnt out, chances you'll quit or give them a reason to fire you for not meeting unrealistic expectations, increase and that could mean saving more on severence.

Or not so sneaky as it may be. Ask EDA friends how they are faring after the forest fire over there.
