Understandable WDC ELT are hyping this non-deal, but Kioxia is better off receiving a couple billion $ from WDCs HDD side each year, than loosing money running WDC SSD buisness.

@1qix+1rdGeoXy, forget AI bandwagon, we are not part of it. That being said, demand for storage will never disappear. If anything, data generated from and for AI will demand more storage. Kioxia and WD produce same exact NAND, there's no need for two companies producing same product family. The merger will be good for investors and disaster for employees.
