Thread regarding Humana Inc. layoffs

Just gotta say it: WHY are y'all STILL at the job ???

...when you know the big rats in corp have left the building & most everything else is offshore?

H-e-xx-- humana has always been less than humane to it's employees & customers. NOW that this titanic is slowly sinking, why y'all still there?
Get out. Seriously. Your own life has value.

Sounds to me like we have an upper rat singing the praises of Humana. It’s a shame they get on here with their million dollar salaries stock options and open their mouths to show their nonsense. So sick of seeing the ones singing the praises. Oh didn’t have the skills or attitude. Enjoy your high paying job while you can. There isn’t anyone safe in any position held by Humana unless your one of Bruce’s lackeys and living off the backs of those that work and are getting rif’d

Because I enjoy what I do and the people I work with and are compensated very very well for my role.

The one RIF I know of most closely impacted care specialists in the regions and clinical professionals. Nobody got rehired until people left and spots opened up and many are still out of work.

So yes...you can get rehired...but in some areas they are deprioritizing, mainly clinical, the opportunities are few and far between.

Also, the mo--ns in leadership shouldn't cut areas that make them revenue. But that would require them not to silo their budgets and actually work together...but that's a whole different rant.

Maybe you weren’t a perfect fit for the role from the business point of view? I’ve been through multiple RIFs over the past decade, and a very small percentage of coworkers that were impacted got internal roles, because they were not skilled enough/appropriate/could grow in the internal role they applied for. While internal get the priority, it doesn’t mean that the candidate is the right one

“I have been with Humana for 14 years and have been truly blessed. There are layoffs just like any other business. But they do try to find other areas within Humana for you to go. Most on this site are critical due to the layoffs and I can understand the frustration but it’s a business. The state our country is in is sad and a lot of businesses are suffering.”

With all due respect, I feel like you’re living in lala-land. Please keep in mind, that you’ve had 14 years to build your career, gain experience, and move up within the company. The Humana that you started working for 14 years ago, isn’t the same company that it is now. There are people, like myself, today who are in the position that you were in 2010 when you first joined. Fresh out of college, trying to establish their career, and climb up the ladder. However, for those that were RIF’d, Hiring Managers are supposed to prioritize associates who were impacted by layoffs, and they simply aren’t. I was RIF’d in January (like many others), so I know first hand what it’s like. I’ve reached out to the Hiring Managers directly immediately after applying, explained by situation, and detailed why I would be a perfect fit for the role, and they simply ignore me. A few days later, I get a “thanks, but no thanks” decline email. Since being RIF’d, I haven’t had ONE internal interview… not one. I only have 3 weeks left to find an internal role within Humana, and it looks like that isn’t going to happen. Gone are the days where you can stay at a company for decades and retire happily. I’m happy to know that you haven’t had a negative experience at Humana, but many people are dealing with the realities of this challenging wave of Humana throwing you out to the wolves with no regard or care. You never think you will be laid off, until you are. Never think it couldn’t happen to you, or that your loyalty and hard work will somehow be rewarded. So while you stick your nose in the air, and say, “Oh wow. It’s happens. Su-k it up”, remember the lack of compassion and sensitivity you gave to us, when you are trying to pay your bills and rely on savings because your job has been lost.

Post ID: @1isa+1rdClEJz/ Just wait til you’re no longer blessed as you put it. Humana is a Corporation; you are correct there but don’t feel sorry for them. Upper leadership is not suffering. If just five of those upper leaders decided to NOT take a salary or stock options for just one year, we wouldn’t need lay offs.

"Waiting for my vesting date and AIP while I interview elsewhere."
Some places may offer a signing to take care of vesting you may have lost. It's rough out there but it'll can still happen.

What an IGNORANT post. Tell me you have no idea what the job market is like without saying you have no idea what the job market is like. Many people here ARE trying to "jump ship" but you have to like get interviews and job offers before you can leave.
