Thread regarding Nike Inc. layoffs

Trick to save your files without triggering IT alerts

  1. Go to your personal email from work computer
  2. Start a draft email
  3. Attach any files you want.
  4. DON’T send.
  5. From your personal computer now go back to your personal email.
  6. Download files from draft you previously created.
  7. You’re welcome.

Why do this? There is literally no point and you are waisting money from a stupid mistake.

You send nike a list of the files you want and they send them to you. They are very nice about it.

You take files Nike will see, trust me, it happened to me. Cost me thousands in legal fees to navigate and I didn’t even do anything with the files. Why waste that money when Nike will send them to you anyways?

Here's something to know for those of you who don't: Nike takes DLP very seriously and there are measures in place.

For those a few who are offended, I don’t understand why some of you are unable to comprehend is that anything you create during your time at Nike belongs to the company. I don't care if you use your time to create an animated GIF of a pe--s. It’s still company property. Yes, layoffs are hard and they’re not always fair, but you were paid for the time you spent working for the company and everything you did during that time belongs to the company. Trying to get that intellectual capital out out of the system, for your personal benedit is wrong.

OP, I don't understand your reasoning. How do you think this is not going to trigger an HR alert? You think they will only track you if you don't hit 'Send'?

Do you work for HR? Because this is a sure fire way to fast track termination and legal woes.

"Hey everyone, just upload your files to your personal email. They'll never see this!"

Nice try HR.

Please don't follow this lame advice. Nike has the ability to see which websites you have visited and your keystroke activity. And you just spelled it out for them.

Ask yourself if there is anything that Nike really owns that is so important to you that you are willing to risk your severance, legal headache, and your reputation just so you can download their IP.

Trust your abilities. You don't need to do anything so shady to get your next job.

You're smoking something if you think they won't see that activity.

Thanks for telling everyone. Now the tech team will just turn off abilities to log into non-Nike email accounts anywhere. Dufus
