Thread regarding Humana Inc. layoffs

Thoughts?

It's truly disheartening witnessing my colleagues endure challenging times and resorting to turning on each other based on their emotions, only to be met with dismissive remarks like "be lucky you have a job" or "if you don't like it, quit." This hostile environment at our workplace has made it difficult for us to unite and support one another on a common front. Many individuals are hesitant to express their emotions openly, leading me to initiate this conversation to provide some form of outlet. While platforms like Buzzfeed may not be suitable for these discussions, it's essential for us to create a space where we can genuinely check in on each other's well-being and offer support during these trying times.

@pam+1rbUSUtc The Ethics line is outsourced and useless. As far as I can tell the Ethics line only really acts on stuff which can get Humana into trouble, medicare or medicaid abuses.. The process to make a complaint is complicated and vague. I am aware of several associates and Managers who made Ethics complaints about one VP... She knows who she is. What was the outcome? Nothing, NADA, silence. Put your energy into finding other work. You will not beat the system because it's their system.

Band together, unite and rebel. Flood the ethics line. Call the labor board in your state. Have a call or sick day. Force the soulless leaders to actually work! They can’t do our jobs so let’s see them sweat. We have the power!

I agree on all accounts. This is their plan. Offer early retirement. If the 55 and up crowd doesn’t leave, treat them so poorly that they leave on their own with no type of parting package.
Next we have RIFs. Case Managers have endured RIFs every year for as long as I can remember except maybe one or two. Add the Medicare market consolidations, career sale agents and now IT, along with countless others.
Next you have your people in over their head that are hanging by a thread
The above situations lead to an extreme toxic work environment. So everyone is divided, good people are leaving the company and the CEOs and their inept Presidents and SVPs line their pockets with millions.

So I challenge you to check in on your friend you haven’t talked to in a while. I challenge you to ask the questions that need to be asked. I challenge you to stand up for what's right and not let the system have its way, potentially forcing you out of a job you've fought for and invested time and hard effort into. As a movie buff, I recall a scene from "A Bug's Life" where Zeek stood up to Hopper, who then retreated to his hideaway, realizing the potential threat posed by the ants. He said, "If one stands against us, they'll all stand against us. They outnumber us ten to one. If they realize that, then our way of living is over." This parallels our current situation, where, as associates, we must stand together against any injustices or challenges we face.
