Are people still being notified? My dad works at Nike but I don't want to ask him, he's been a mess for the last few months, to put it mildly. I don't want to add to it, but it would be nice to know what's happening. I just want to be prepared for whatever. Thanks in advance.

OP, you are a good egg, and so is everyone else who responded with kind messages.
I wish JD and his crew would read this post and understand the real cost of what is happening, beyond the paltry dollar and cents that they are trying to save on the backs of good employees. And to do layoffs in such an inhumane way shows that they have no heart in addition to no business sense.
Best of luck to everyone here. No matter what happens, I hope good karma finds you all.
Thanks so much, everybody. I was worried I'd be adding to his stress, but I see that it might be the opposite. I'll call him and make sure he knows I'm available so he can call me whenever he wants.
Hi OP! My kids would say the same thing about their Dad. Wishing you and your family strength and love during these challenging times.
My kids have checked in a couple of times with me from college with quick text messages. It’s been great to hear from them. Maybe give that a try. In my case hearing from my kids didn’t add to the stress it gave me a break from it.
Another Dad, I agree with you. And if I were to hazard a guess it most likely is a daughter. Matter of fact it could be my little girl. But regardless, kudos to you OP for looking out for your old man!
Hey OP, You sound like a really good kid. If your Dad is working from home this week, make time for him. Hang out, distract him with his favorites, and let him feel that his family is there for him unconditionally. This week will pass, and he will remember your support for a long time after.
I am worried about him, I know this has been a very difficult period. Thanks for sharing what you know.
hi @OP+1rapOQMS, is he working from home this week? If so, this is the week... if he survives until Friday at 5, he's probably ok this time around. Wish you the best.
We all want to be prepared, unfortunately Nike wants to keep us all on our toes so nobody knows. They are not communicating much and most people are finding out they’ll be laid off 10 minutes before it happens.
If you want to be there for your dad, just be there for him. Call him and chat, if you’re close by go over and hang out. Just do some small stuff together to keep his mind off of the “what ifs” cause that’s literally all most of us have right now.
