Took 5 min or less to let so many people go today. Access cut immediately, phone and laptop deactivated. We had lots of tears and texts. Some people are new, some 20 year vets. We all got an email within an hour of being let go. Disgraceful. A handful of highly experienced folks - Nike is losing so much institutional knowledge. Along with its heart. I can’t imagine staying at a company that’s been this brutal to folks these last few months and will continue to be for the next few months. And the leaders that stayed…wow. The worst of the worst. It’s a bad day for Nike.

Why cr-p on the people that haven’t been cut? No one chose any of this.
If it's a Nike phone do they let you keep the device?
No phones get deactivated but Nike access is cut to protect them. It’s normal.
The phone is not ‘deactivated’. Your phone is being unenrolled from enterprise apps and data. Your phone line will remain active and you can choose to keep service with the same number, or turn the number in.
I was let go in the 2020 layoffs. The phone wasn’t deactivated but during my call they started remotely wiping the phone of email access and contact names disappeared. Good luck all. I empathize greatly with you. I’m searching for a gig as well.
I literally cannot believe it. There must be something wrong with Slack.
Which team ?
Our VP and VP’s VP are gone. We had multiple SDs, Dr’s (many are long time Veterans). They are clearly making grave mistakes by letting some of these people go. As someone that works in trenches for a long time, I know for sure that these people are the reason for innovation in their respective space. JD thinks this is Bain, where you are not around to see the carnage you have done to a brand.
Feeling Sorry for you. Do you know how many people out of how many was let go today ?
You really should give your org/initials. If anything just to prove you are not someone outside the company causing grief.
Does seem legit though and really sorry this happened to you and your team.
They don’t deactivate your phone. They will submit a request to transfer your plan if you ask them to.
Phone deactivated? Are you sure? For many people their Nike phone is their only phone. Cutting off access to Nike things, sure, but deactivating? I find this unlikely.
